Maps are selected by the in-game voting system as follows:
All players are responsible for treating each other with respect during the match. Please respect those in the server at all times and please don't be careless with your language. The TWL aims to foster a professional and fair-play environment, meaning all participants must conduct themselves with integrity, courtesy, and dignity. This includes avoiding any form of toxic behavior, offensive language, threats, or harassment, regardless of the match outcome. Fair play also requires strict adherence to all stated rules, server settings, and game formats. Our community thrives on competition but insists on mutual respect.
With the inability to restart a server with exact scores, server crashes will be handled in the following manner:
This is a 1v1 ladder. Each team consists of a single player.
If a player is unable to play at the scheduled time, they must either forfeit or re-schedule the match at a later date with cooperation from the opposing player.
Signing up and joining a ladder requires that:
Contact the admins on Discord if you want to do this
Due to the nature of the Internet, it is possible for a player to be disconnected or dropped from a server. Should this happen, the disconnected player may rejoin. Once reconnected, the player must rejoin immediately. Anyone sitting in spectator for over 30 seconds will be considered observing and risk forfeiting the match.
The only spectators that will be allowed to watch a match are those authorized by TWL. TeamWarfare reserves the right to observe any TWL match without notification or approval. The Admin's identity can be verified by contacting them on Discord during the match. Any attempt to impersonate a TeamWarfare admin will result in a permanent site ban.
Your in-game name must match your roster name. The use of a completely different name or a name with ASCII text is not permitted and will result in ineligibility for the match. It is understood by TWL that some players have had to add special characters or numbers to register. Please use common sense when determining who a player is. The opposing player has the right to refuse a match if names do not match. The player may resume play once the name has been changed to the correct registered name. Should you have any questions and/or concerns, please contact an Admin.
Failure to accept the match within 48 hrs will result in the following consequences:
Note: Forfeit will NOT include a loss on the record, nor will the other player gain a win on their record.
Once the defender has offered the dates and times the attacker will have 48 hrs to confirm one of the three offers. Also note that some Ladders may require additional selections such as maps and/or side selection.
Failure to confirm the match 48 hrs after it was accepted will result in the following consequences:
Note: Forfeit will NOT include a loss on the record, nor will the other player gain a win on their record.
Players that have these consequences applied will be notified by Discord. The TWL System monitors and flags all matches in violation. A llama is added each time to the player that violates the Match Acceptance process. Players that receive more than 3 llama's in a row for inactivity will be removed from the Ladder.
You must be registered with your correct name prior to the ACCEPT Date of the match to be able to play.
Periodically you may need an Admin to finish the match results. Every Admin must be able to verify the scores in order to report the match as completed. It is your responsibility to take screenshots at the end of each game so that the score can be verified. Without screenshots, regardless of the match outcome, the match may be canceled.
ALL match communications MUST go through the Teamwarfare Match Communication system (your match comms channel in TWL Discord). This can be accessed via the "Match Comms" link on the ladder view. Issues discussed in Match Comms should be Servers, passwords, match settings, scheduling times, or any other relevant match specific information.
NOTE: TWL Admins use the Match Communication system when verifying information regarding disputes and general match inquiries. If players have not communicated in Match Comms, any disputes relating match specific issues, other then cheating or smurfing, may be summarily dismissed by an admin because of an inability to validate such problems.
All disputes will be handled by the league admin(s). Each and every dispute inevitably involves different aspects and will be dealt with individually. Disputes must be reported to your league admin within 1 hour of match end. This is done by clicking on "Dispute Match Results", found in your team admin panel or formally filing your dispute text in your Discord's Match Comms. Disputes must be for a valid and specific reason. You must identify 'when and where' the violation occurred.
In the event of a dispute, players should check their match comms often as the admin may request additional information. Once requested, players have 48 hours to produce the materials (demos, server logs, screenshots etc) that the admins ask for. The Admin will have the final say in judging the disputes. This game is meant to be fun, let's keep it clean and avoid any unwanted hassles.
Our concern is to have a fun and clean place to play. Although the dispute process is necessary in helping keep a clean match, players who make it a habit to dispute often with frivolous reasons will subject themselves to possible suspension, rungs lost and/or league points deducted.
Teamwarfare has zero tolerance for cheating and cheating accusations without an effort to submit any evidence.
Exploiting the game is illegal and will be considered cheating if used in a match. Do not assume that use of a bug or game engine flaw is legal, contact an Admin if you are unsure.
Glitching and Exploiting are very vague terms. All players reserve the right to make their case against any questionable position that is used in a match. Consult an Admin if you feel there was an occurrence. Our Anti-Cheat team has created a very useful list of definitions. Protect yourself from punishment by following these guidelines.
Including but not limited to going under the map and moving through or shooting from places where flaws in the textures allow you to see through walls.
You cannot jump on top of a bunker and use it to your advantage.
A match server will be provided for you.
TWL will continue to support players who police themselves of hackers and cheaters. In the case where a player purges a hacker from their ranks and brings it to the attention of TWL staff TWL will waive the drop in ladder rungs.
Your admins aim to be available during match times and are here to assist you in setting up, understanding the rules and resolving disputes. You can also request that admins be present for match observation in advance of your match so long as a spectator mode is possible. The role of an observer is to:
These are the maps that are selected for official matches, teams can agree to play different ones but if they can not agree it will have to be what the ladder selected from this pool.
No maps configured yet.
So long as you are logged into the website you should see a "Create Team" button above the ladder's leaderboard that you want to join. This should open up a form for you to fill out which, when complete, will add you to the queue and ladder admins will approve your team.
Match comms (Match Communications) are private Discord channels created for each match where both team captains can discuss servers, passwords, match settings, scheduling times, and other match-specific information. TWL Admins monitor match comms when verifying disputes. All official match communication must go through match comms - discussions elsewhere may not be considered in disputes.
Rant boards are discussion rooms that are created when a match challenge is accepted. They last until the match is resolved, after which point they are permanently deleted. They are a no-holds-barred area that is not moderated (aside from adherence to TWL Terms of Service) and often used for predictions, good wishes and jeers.
Teams that win matches take over the ladder rung of the defeated team, who in turn gets moved just below the victor. Each map is 10 minutes with unlimited points, and if a team achieves an 8 point lead, the mercy rule triggers and they win that map immediately.
Yes, clicking on your team name on the ladder has a convenient "Edit Team Info" button which allows you to edit what you need in-place.
Immunity is a protection period after a match ends where teams cannot be challenged. This gives teams time to rest and regroup after competing. Once a match has been played/reported, neither team can attack each other for 7 days.
A llama is a penalty given to teams that violate match acceptance processes or other ladder rules. Common reasons include failing to accept a challenge within 48 hours or failing to confirm a match within 48 hours. Teams that receive more than 3 llamas in a row for inactivity will be removed from the ladder. Think of it as a yellow card warning system.
Any team below you on the ladder can challenge you if you're within their challenge range. Teams can challenge up to 2 slots from their current rank. For example, if you're at rung 10, only teams 11 and 12 could challenge you.
The team being challenged is called the "home team" or "defender" - they get to pick one of the three date/times that the challenger issues. The team issuing the challenge is called the "away team" or "attacker" - they choose from the proposed dates/times. The defender gets first server choice for maps 1 and 3, while the attacker gets server choice for map 2.
The defender has 48 hours to accept the challenge and propose three dates/times. Failure results in forfeit, a llama penalty, and being dropped 2 ladder rungs. Once accepted, the attacker has 48 hours to confirm one of the proposed dates. Failure also results in forfeit, a llama, and being dropped 2 rungs. The forfeit will NOT count as a loss on your record.
You should be on the server no later than 10 minutes after the scheduled match time. Both teams should be ready to play no later than 10 minutes from the scheduled time unless agreed upon by both parties. Failure to meet these requirements can result in an immediate forfeit. Please be punctual especially on smaller ladders!
Yes, but matches can only be rescheduled once, and the new match time must be within 3 days of the original match time. Both teams must mutually consent to the reschedule via match comms. Teams cannot cancel challenges on their own - all cancellations must go through a ladder admin.
Match results must be reported as a loss in your team admin panel within 1 hour of match end. If you're disputing the results, you must select "Dispute Match Results" within 1 hour and also notify the opposing team in match comms. Failure to report or dispute within the time limit can result in penalties, including being dropped a percentage of total rungs or removal from the ladder for repeat offenses.
Teams are expected to remain active on the ladder. Any team showing inactivity for a period of 4 weeks will be deleted from the ladder. This timeframe does not include official "rest" periods that teams take through the admin console.
No, you may only be a member of one team per ladder. However, you can participate in multiple different ladders simultaneously (one team per competition). Playing for a team you're not registered with or being on multiple teams on the same ladder is considered smurfing and will result in severe penalties.
