i went almost all cash a bit over a year ago for a reason
after we sold an investment condo we had for about 10 years.

im staying mostly cash for now, though.

but do not freak out, people, this too shall pass. it's just a cycle.

dont buy expensive toys for now.

You were just telling us to invest in dividend stocks. Now you are telling us you are all cash! What's up?

When you tell people not to buy expensive stuff, gas is expensive stuff to some people right now. Are you talking about not buying that 150 ft yacht or something else.

I think telling people not to buy stuff, whatever that means, helps create a down turn.

I'm just looking for some clarification! We have seen downturns before and we work our way out of them. We are way over due for a downturn. I think any stimulus package by our government only delays a normal process and worsens any future downturn.

I guess we shall see!

Have you read Nostradamus's predicitons for 08? I read his predictions and he says all markets will crash. Stocks and bonds will go to zero and something major is supposed to happen. He also predicts that a woman will be elected and that eventually things will return to normal.

I don't think I will take that to seriously, but funny thing is, I'm taking it into account.

"almost all cash" means i didnt sell stocks that have long histories of paying dividends. and also includes the fkng 401k stuff we put it back when we were young and stupid. now we are just not so young.

edit: i agree with you, the only way the gvt can offer anything is by squeezing someone...what i have heard so far is what you guys have heard too: bank rate cuts and tax cuts....pffft. our children will bear the burden, except they wont cuz our banks wont be lending any money by then i am exagerating, but you the idea. financial stocks will continue to get uglier than an ole witch's ass. u watch, the gvt will step in and offer MORE/NEW guarantees program for small business lendings, emergency personal lending uup to very small sums, and a mortgage crisis guarantee shit, all directed at the banks thru different avenues.

the world of private equity investing and banking went up like a mushroom cloud during the last 5 years for a reason , folks.

it's their own gate community, but for money transactions.

dont buy the new 35ft powerboat, buy a used sailboat if u can, do enjoy life, but do it wisely. im referring to life's luxuries.

Seriously, Andy it fine to live your life day to day. Depending on how bad things get, they will affect your day to day approach. Nobody is really immune from job loss or economic malaise. Maybe the rich aren't to some extent, but we all feel it wether we plan for the future or not.
