it will be hard to prove that the files are real, like some of them can corrupt them and then they are useless in court, therefore they cant do shit to them.

Those silly euros and their zany antics

From the sounds of it, they acquired screenshots of these users HDs, and the only way to do that is to hack in.

..any company that does that witnout a warrent will get hacking charges pressed on em, hard.

Congress has already proposed an E-ID. Basically, it's like an IP address, only each person, instead of computer, gets one. You'd have to use it to check email, get on to the net, etc. They'd know where everyone is visiting, who they get email from, what they download, etc. They'll probably say it's meant to fight terrorism. I love government, don't you?

Isnt it true that as long as you do not distribute copyrighted material, or claim it as yours, that they cant really do shit?

That's false... if it's on your computer, you have a certain responsibility, even if you didn't put it there or even knew it was there.

"CD sales fell more than 5 percent in 2001 and dipped another 1 percent in the first half of this year, according to the RIAA."
Im guessing they dont think the crappy music they put out has anything to do with it

This is well on its way in becoming a reality in the States.

Big brother is watching you more than you know.
They are currently attempting to make it legal to send you a virus and crash your PC for down load-copyrighted materials.

I'm more worried about the implanted chip (verichip or whatever) that stores all the information about you- SS#, bank #'s, etc.

Eek.

From a standpoint as a Christian, of course. But also because, imagine the possible government corruption!! Sheesh. We do NOT want to give the government that much power. Parts of our Constitution (eg. right to bear arms) are as much about safety FROM a possible corrupted government, as they are personal safety.

Eek. Take my computer, but I'm keeping my soul.

I think they took screensots from within kazaa showing the name of the user who had the files stored and availabale fro sharing. This is a function of Kazaa they all agree to. I don't think they hacked into anyone's computer.
