Sorry Zom, can't bring myself to hating any of these players the helped bring us the long awaited championship. I do understand how you feel though. I even appreciate nomar, without his value as trade bait, i am not sure we would of pulled this off.

I wasn't really pissed until I saw him at the press conference, and his attitude was really shitty. Made me sad

Pedro will not make it through 2 years healthy.

I will never the understand why people hate guys like pedro that eventually leave after giving his all for the city of boston. Im a huge braves fan and im thankful for what guys like maddux and glavine did for the team.

No one hates Pedro for leaving, it's for being a hypocrite. He said repeatedly in the past that it's not about money, that he already has enough but of course we can see that's what he cares about most. The Sox have offered him a comparable deal minus one year. I seriously doubt, along with most people that he has more than 2 good years left in him and we still offered him a 3 year contract. We want him but still need to keep the team competitive. If anyone deserves an above and beyond contract it's Varitek, the heart and soul of the team everyday player, not an every 5th day player like Pedro. With that said I still appreciate what he's done, one of the best pitchers I'll ever see in my lifetime and even though he's pissing me off he'll still be missed.

well said... totally agree, we gotta get v-tek back.. pedro was great but he's in it for the money and i kinda thought he was a little better than that

Im a huge boston fan as well. I think Boston wanted to retain that champian ship team. But the coolest thing about this deal is, pedros guy came back to Boston and said, well mets are giving this, what counter do you have, Boston said, "nada, this negotiation is done". That was awesume. Any other Boston fans here think Pedro pitched crappy games in the world series? I do. I thought he folded big time.

The saddest deal in this whole thing is, Pedro plays for money. Period. Screw him. I mean come on guys, how many millions do you actually need to play baseball? He couldnt play for bosox for 10 mill a year?????!!!?? And keep his status as "decent guy, a team guy"? Well hes no longer that, just another part of the system that will destroy sports. Course then again, the real dummies in this are the fans, the ones willing to pay 80 bucks for a seat, 10 bucks for a small paper cup of beer, and 5 bucks for a hot dog. We are the real douschbags.
