BF3 Stuck

...on initializing.

I've updated anything that can be updated including the game and any plugins, reinstalled it all a few times, rebooted and tried, tried all sorts off other forums that people have suggested, disabled my firewall, opened up ports and changed program permissions but still wont go past initialising and MP doesn't go past matchmaking.

It's a new copy I got today and seven hours later I've still not played it. Any ideas? I'm losing the will to live!

Maybe your browser is blocking it, usually when bf3 updates firefox asks me if I allow it. I did hear awhile back that bf3 doesn't work on current browsers.

turn off AVAST.

This particular issue appeared early on in BF3's life and was easily resolved by "turning off all shields"

you can accomplish this by right clicking on the avast icon in your system tray (bottom right by the clock)

if you have AVG, you may want to de-activate that one and try it.

if you have neither AVG or AVAST... try de-activating any and all firewall/anti-virus software and see if bf3 works.

it's not the bf3 PROGRAM that's failing you, it's the 3rd party web-site software stuff that runs WITH the game that's holding you up.

Try it out and report back.

Also, as Kyle mentioned, it could be a browser issue. you using chrome or ff or what?
