A Notion for UAC Usage

I suggest you allow the games to mainstream with little interference as possible. When UAC runs a scan during gameplay it hogs up some CPU usage and my game starts to lag. I may not have the best CPU but who wants a little or a lot of undedicated CPU usage during gameplay, especially during matches. For example when XAC X-ray AntiCheat was around it never caused lag before and I was on a single core processor at the time.

I am concerned about UAC during gameplay. I started UAC for the first time and I see it hogs up CPU usage during it's random scans when it is activated. This will suck until UAC programmers make it easier on the CPU as I suggested at their website at the link below.

P.S. http://www.uac.ac/ (Goto Forums -> Application Suggestions -> Topic: UAC Scan During Gameplay)

Some context maybe... System specs?
Off topic I know but I looked at the forum post at UAC and saw him saying "Hi, that's why x-ray is not around anymore."

Do anybody know why? I totally missed that event

Yes, what are you running currently? I know players that play MOH:AA and other games with low system spec with little to no problem.

Oh and if you meant to type MOTION.... We will continue to use UAC for ALL TWL Matches. This will stay in effect until another AC Program is developed and possibly adopted by TWL. Until then UAC is mandatory.

I meant to type "Notion" not "Motion". It was something to think about since it hogs CPU usage during gameplay and this affects everybody in a little or big way depending on system specs. But since everybody always wants more dedicated system usage then that is my point.

I don't remember when I said that, it must be another post.

I don't think you've answered the question of: what specs are you running.
Nothing runs for free....

Every application you run takes system resources. BF3 is quite the system hog so if your system is borderline to start with then UAC is going to cause issues.

I don't see BF3 hogging up much system resources, only thing I get is lag when my computer runs scans on UAC. When I'm running BF3 only application running is BF3 and Origin. I turn off all scheduled defrag, error scans and auto Window updates. I get informed about Window updates but I don't download and install them until I am finish gaming for the night. My anti-virus is set to Silent/Gaming mode and doesn't make a peep from running in the background.

I know if I had a better computer I wouldn't have much lag problems with UAC scans but I know I would do without out UAC scans with or without a better computer because of the dedicated gaming issue.

Those specs are pretty low and that's why your UAC lags imo.

Yeah you gotta watch out for that USB bus flooding issue.
There is an option to enable freeze lag protection, this will reduce the demands on your system.

Go to OPTIONS: upper right of Play Pane.
Service: and select Remove Freeze Lag

See if that helps.

There is also a meeting for admins scheduled 17 June to discuss UAC4.
UAC4 is reported to reduce CPU use considerably (about 50%) along with other feature enhancements.

lol (almost like youve been waiting for the op)

What RES do you play at? and how many FPS do you get on average?

Your CPU is pretty much minimum spec for BF3. That leaves little or no room to run anything else without causing issues.

Unfortunately competitive gaming pretty much requires a system that can handle the game + anti cheats. Don't blame the leagues, blame the idiots paying hackers to rent their hacks.

Think about TWL's options... They could pay for a really nice custom anti cheat, but the ads over there>>> barely pay for the site let alone software development.

They could drop the anti cheat all together so that borderline spec players are not impacted. Well sure you will gain a few legit players but holy crap "Cheat Kiddies" will be everywhere. Not worth it.

Or they could do what they are doing and use UAC3 until UAC4 is ready. Sure it sucks for a few but the other options suck more.
You forget BC2 and most of BF3's career where there was no anti-cheat, and still no hackers. Huh. Just a lot of pointless hoops to jump through, and it takes eight days to get people on a roster.
Yes there are no hackers in games, I really did win a new iPad by clicking a banner and TWL makes millions a year from advertising.

Believe what you will but if you truly believe no one is hacking in BF3 I have a nice Bridge to sell you, hardly used
I think the community vastly overstates the number of hackers in the game because they don't know what skill looks like. I have seen maybe 10 hackers in this game ever, and only two in competition. Both of which were caught without the use of Useless Anti-Cheat 3.
I really don't care what you "THINK". Id rather air on the side of caution and make damn sure people don't hack.

There are ways to hack that do not show to anyone observing.

Push to view radar.
On fire aim assist.
Threat warnings
Enemy heath bars

Smart hackers know good players can spot them quickly. I agree most hackers are easily identified by good players. However an average player using one or two of the above becomes a good player. I've seen people I would swear were not hacking caught for it. I've been playing FPS shooters for 15+ years and every year its got worse. There's now a multi million dollar industry supporting PC hacks. To think that all the idiots stay away from competitive play is just naive.

We've banned over 40 , so there are a few more than your estimates. That said, among the core active players there probably aren't as many as most people think.
xShades youre always so mean, makes you an easy target.

I don't think there's one comptetive player that doesnt want an UAC program. Xray was a good idea poorly executed and poorly rolled out. This appears to be the same situation.

Sometimes the appearace of caring is as good as actually caring and that's all thats needed with SW rollouts. Replying to xSights with something like "Yeah I hear ya on the issues and agree for the most part but what are we supposed to do? We're not going to get rid of UAC. Let's talk on IRC and see if we can figure something out concerning your settings."

Odds are he won't have IRC but if he does then try a few things. He will inturn champion the program and spread postivity on the forums. it turns into a win win.

You see threads about TWL changing, this is all that's changed. The admins arent on the same level as they used to be Allen, durina, cbreeze etc. you know the oldies. the art of simple minipulation has been lost.

Agreed.

Personally when we were playing BF3 I think we only suspected one player. Thats pretty good and we enjoyed playing in TWL games.

What I'm saying is its better to be SURE than have all the speculation about top players being sneaky hacks. Right now with UAC in place you would have to be a drooling retard to try and sneak a hack.

Thats fucking perfect.

PS. Komala,
Not meen just insensitive. So many years of this makes me the old guy shouting out the window "GET OFF MY LAWN". I really want a level fair playing field, I love gaming and I see competitive gaming as the most fun you can have with a computer with 2 hands. Cheats fuck with my fun and anything that returns the favor gives me a woody
