so spiza, what you're saying is...

if tao was sure they could beat you no matter how many guys you had, they should have allowed you to use late sign ups. but if they were unsure, then it was a "cheap win" ? i don't get it...

and fled, we're so sexier. way.

The only thing I am ever unsure about is if we will have enough people to even show up to a match. The difference between what happened with NOX with their 2 late-join players and our match where we had one late joiner was that we asked the other team permission for him to play several days BEFORE the match. They could have said "no", and it would have ended right there. TWL has its rules, and then there are agreements between 2 teams. If 2 teams happen to agree to play horseshoes instead of RTCW for a match, then I suppose that would be acceptable.

How come I knew all the rules when I started this team? Because I read them. Not knowing the rules isn't an excuse.

Try to see this from our perspective. A new team, "NOX" challenges us. We know NOTHING about anyone on the team. They show up to a match with 1/3 of their team inelible to play and try to BS us into letting them play. How would you have handled it? You HAD enough players, but the ones would have filled your roster and were eligible to play were all out trying to get laid on a friday night.

THEN, you guys said we were "the not-fun clan". That hurts.... I'm still trying to get over that...

Seriously.. do you guys need another player on your team? hehe

Yeah, I like the idea of "Team History". Very good idea. There are a lot of things that would make TWL a little more steamlined. How about email notification when you get a Match Comm? How about ONE page you can go to for a team to collect GUID's? What's up with that???!

Just wanted to touch on that point. Email notifications every time you get a match comm really is not feasible. The amount of resources server side that would require is staggering, beacuae think about it, that would be for every game, every ladder, every match, that TWL has, that would generate literally thousands of extra email a day going out in notifications. From an IT standpoint, its really not feasible, resource wise its a lot as is to send an email notification every time someone is attacked, so I dont ever see that happening tbh.

As far as one page for checking GUIDS, there kinda is if you view "detailed roster" on a teams roster page. Some people miss that, its a link at the top of each teams roster.

Hotniks is correct. We actually had this sort of email notification years ago however its just not possible due to the resource it requires.
Zed, I would believe you on what you said, but we weren't a new team. You could have looked at our other ladder teams and seen the same guys on it. As I said we didn't know there were 2 rules for the same purpose on the ladder. We complained to the admins about it then. Complained to them again when we had a problem with another clan. But it appears the rules need to stay confusing.
Rules look simple to me. I mean if some1 isnt on your roster before match is accepted then they dont play. If they are in your clan but just forgot to sign up for a ladder/league your in then thats your their fault.

Spiza, it really is top on my list of things to do once we get this Bani stuff settled. You should see that being fixed very soon. I know it's confusing to have 2 different rules on the same thing. We'll resolve the issue as soon as possible. Suffice to say the rule should be that the member has to be on the team at time of match acceptence in order to be eligible to play.

Yes but another part says 24 hrs prior. Working on getting this fixed. Lets use the communty to see who can find other parts the conflict. Like one part says before match acceptance for rosters another says 24hrs prior. Who can find more.

The reason this does this is. One part is shrub league/ladder rulers the other part is general rule set. I am working on getting this fixed asap but i only have access to certain areas.
ppl could just bring in ringers if its only 24 hours

AH HA... well this Noob appreciates the info about the
DETAILED STATS.

Thanks for the explanation about the email notifications. Makes sense.

i was actually commenting on email notification not the actual rule issue.

There are 2 portions of every rule set and that is "Spacific" ladder rules and "General" rules.

The SPacific rule set is the one that you go by. The General rules are for the site as a whole and pertain to all ladders or Leagues.

The're "should" be a disclaimer at the bottom of the Spacific rules. :
Ladder Rules Override

* - Please note that the above Rules, DO OVERRIDE any Conflicting rules in the "General Rules" listed below.

The reason for this is that we find that in certain circumstnaces the Gen rules do not properly address things and Spacific rules do it better.

I see the admins have posted and i am sure they will address any inconsistancies.
How about divisions by ping. Say... either side of the Mississipi? Something like that. Cali people do have it worse than the rest, however, try getting a decent ping from South Florida. I have a friend in Alaska who plays and you should see the ping! Another suggestion (if you really like this shit) is getting a TWL server or two for more even pings and a neutral and admin'd match. I have a few dollars to chip in. My problem with TWL rules and ping differentials is the admins seem to fudge on the rules from time to time. My .02.
sorry zed, that reply was for felder

thats how it should be

east div
cent/west div

but some ppl are still oblivious that ping matters, so they still schedule a team with several west members vs an entirely east team. and were forced to play on their east server. 50 pingers - 3. 90 pingers - 0. gfg

This is the kind of situation where sportsmanship really comes into play. Teams who are willing to work with each other to find the most level playing field, or who decide to waive their homefield advantage in the spirit of fair play and sportsman ship, is what this community really needs. Why change and modify current rules when changing team values is also an option?
East and West divisions would be a bad idea, I know many clans who have members from all over and this would limit a lot of the members within the clan from playing in twl matches.

Leafie is right, more teams just need to determine which servers offers the best ping differential prior to game time to avoid any conflicts. If you're team is courteous enough and do this as the defenders then hopefully when you're the challenger later on your opponents will hopefully remeber the courtesy bestowed apon them and will express the same sportsmanship towards you.

lets try a little 4th grade math here, bear with me
2 west + 2 central + 2 east averages out to central
thus, they would become a central team

not rocket science
and how the fuck would that limit alot of ppl from playing?

Who wants to play CANDYLAND?
you can snake my ladder anytime homegurl
