New additions to Illegal exploit in ET

1. Airstriking Defenders in the Bank in the Goldrush map due to a clipping Bug is an Exploit.

2. There's a spot outside the old city where one can literally sink into the ground, and become invisible. If using a flamethrower, can shoot flames and kill people and nobody can see the person OR the flames. This is an illegal exploit.

3. On oasis the guns can be planted (via stacking) without entering inner city area and climbing stairs. this is illegal
Chinese agree with first two rules, but why third? This is very difficult to do and leaves your team wide open. With the way the map will turn into a "defend north gun" just like base is a "defend radar 1" map, it only makes sense to give the allies every opportunity possible.

Chinese play the gong for the 3rd rule!

A spicy Szechuan dish made with diced chicken, peanuts and chili peppers. It is named after a Kung Pao or court official.
OMGWTF PWNED BY CHINESE!!!
Here's one for the engineers.

Don't plant dynamite at your own Health and Ammo section to defuse it and earn extra XP.

I don't understand this rule. It's not an exploit whatsoever, and if you can do it without breaking the original stacking rule, it should be allowed.

because it doesnt allow for Defusing
If a team can get up and plant it, I don't see how the opposite team can't get up and defuse it?
If it takes a boost to diffuse a dyno in RTCW it is illegal. I am applying the same rule to ET.
Fair enough, you're the boss.
LOL why would people need to do this to win anyway.

because it's a very good strat. While your trying to difuse that one the other team is sending a team to plant the other gun.
There is talk about this tnt planted far enough away from the obj so it blows it but doesn't announce that it was planted. I know this was an issue on some rtcw maps (customs). Didn't realize it was possible in ET. My initial thought is that it is a bad thing and is an exploit but at the same time, the mappers from SD mention this (sorta). They just say the blast radius is large so not to put 2 obj too close to eachother. Add to that, the game doesn't always announce the plant even if its right on top of the objective.

If we are to have this regulated then it will be very difficult to draw some invisible line saying here u can plant and here you cant. My thoughts are that its not entirely intended otherwise we wouldn't have the announcement in the first place. However, its not a huge problem.

My only issues with somethign like this would be planting tnt that blows an obj at a spot where it sorta negates the inteded placement of the objectives. Say you could plant tnt at the fuel depot just outside the west fortification. Somethign like that I think should prolly be ruled on. Of course, there prolly isn't an instance involving that scenario so this post ends up being a waste of bandwidth. go me.

#SToP on Gamesnet and ETG
Can't that be some code that shrub could put in for the Tourneymod to fix that?
You know whats funny, I had a clan try this on us once (forgot if it was a scrim or match). I heard some walking on the other side of north, tossed an a/s, next thing I know I killed 5 people. Tee Hee. I say keep it legal. It takes probably a good 30 seconds or so to rush allies from the spawn, to the back (or front) archway and then stack plant. If they want to waste time, then work it.
some dyno plants should be considered illegal, like planting on stairs on goldrush...

because when u look at it, in theory it wouldnt have the power to destroy it... therefor, to abide my the laws of physics, i think it should be considered illegal. (i work for a blasting company, "I'm and Engineer!" "Need Covering Fire!")
Zepher,

I don't follow your real life reasoning... What in real life makes you think one engineer could rebuild the barrier in under 5 seconds? What in real life makes you think that you could survive a headshot and keep running. Gaming is not real life. The 2nd tank barrier is very hard to get blown because it is so close to the spawn. I think having the ability to plant on the stairs is the best way to make it fair.

Sure it looks a little funny, and at first most people didn't go run up and defuse it, but now people know and it is a valid tactic.

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.

think of it this way, the game is superhuman people playing with realistic physics... so, superman could survive that kind of punishment, and build things that fast... but supermans dyno couldnt blow that damned thing... (if I was superman, i would fly the tank over the bridge)

lol, i really dont know why i bothered to open my mouth... i really dont care where they plant, the stairs are better cuz you dont have to worry about the tank or MG mowing you down as you defuse

The coolest thing about the stairs dyno on goldrush is you can boost from underneath for a stealth defuse while they spam the stairs with grens :>
FYI as a Structural Engineer by profession, that amount of Dynamite would likely blow the hell out of that bridge (given that it is most likely a masonry bridge given that its in AFRICA!) and stairs so that the tank wouldn't get over the bridge and the axis wouldn't be able to come up the stairs. Realism is totally lost on this game, so just never bring it up as an argument. Just play it and have fun. The definition that Zed gave about exploit plants works well enough. If it takes a boost for it to be disarmed, then No Go. If you are physically able to get to it, then its up to your team to clear the path so you can. Just remember, that if the tank is damaged, then it can't cross barrier, and you can just rebuild it....
"well if i was fighting superman, id use kryptonite bullets"

yeah, i guess planting on the stairs doesnt really matter...
Whuts plantin on stairs do? Ive never really tried that
Blows tank barrier #2 on Oasis. You have to plant on the edge of the stairs closest to the barrier, if I'm not mistaken. Also remember that you can plant on the tank side of the barrier back in the corner protected from gunfire from the axis side and it will also blow the barrier (and is far easier to protect if you hold the tank side).
