I'm starting a draft league. I've got 20 people interested already, so post your name and preferred/available times in this topic if you want to join. If I don't get the numbers I like, it'll turn into a variable game mode tourney with spawn CTF, POTC, and/or stuff like Team Gauntlet thrown in to make it fun regardless of the numbers.

The objective of the tourney is fun is fun, camaraderie, and community-building.

For emphasis: the objective is fun.

I don't care to start another 120 player pissing contest, so no Darkstrands need apply. I'd also prefer not to have smurfs. I hate keeping up with them, and the point is to make bonds, so smurfing is counter-productive and will be heavily frowned upon.

I'm not on IRC, so post your name and times in this topic. If you have a novel gametype you'd like to see added, post that too. If enough people post along a similar vein, I don't see why I wouldn't add it.

Also post if you'd be interested in captaining a not-supersrsbsns team in a fun tourney.

This just doesn't sound like something you have been about in the past while talking shit in the pub, trying to turn over a new leaf? I wonder when the last time the community saw me go o-sniping all the time was.

I won't be signing up, I like the current tourney system better and we would have to practice/play twice as often which would burn a lot of people out who are already not sure they want to play. You should just join the current tourneys so you can take me out while I'm o-sniping "90% of the time".

Way too much poor sportsmanship here. 12 year old game. Stop pissing on each other. It smells bad here even without it.

The only way this MIGHT happen is if it's strictly spawn CTF which can support 5v5.

Otherwise it's a waste of time since there are barely enough interested in doing the draft tourneys.

I'm pretty sure the majority of people have had FUN in the past 9 seasons of the draft league, 80+ people signing up for the past 2 years is impressive. Maybe you should learn to control your emotions.

Did you just make this 'Draft League' for people that end up taking things a little too personally and can't handle a bit of taunting in comp?

I thought the point of competition was to win and be the best at what you do. Fun is right there along with it and also it really does depend on your definition of fun when it comes to video games. For me fun comes when I've finally made someone so mad they either uninstall their game or delete their entire C Drive.

Can I sign up now or am I not allowed?

Sportsmanship in my book is offering a challenging game that is actually fun to play. If you can't provide that kind of sportsmanship then you all you deserve is a bunch of VGTA's in your face at the beginning and end of every match you'll play.

I would love to, but waking up in the middle of the night is unfortunately not currently feasable for me =(

If the pub server is alive you might see me pop in to practice being cannon fodder for you guys though.
