What are your exact system specs?

I'm looking to possibly upgrade here in the near future and could use some advice.

I'm getting real sick of sub 30, 20, and sub 10 FPS at some times. It'd be nice to average somewhere close to 100 if possible and never drop below say 50 at any time. Is that possible for some of you?

I currently have a regular Geforce 3 and 512 megs of DDR 333 that I'm wanting to make use of still by the way.

Anyone have some recomendations for what would be ideal for these FPS ranges and reasonably costly if possible?
Post your exact system specs.

The RAM sounds like plenty, what CPU? Tribes 2 is very cpu abusing, so an upgrade in that would help a lot proably. Tweak your sytem too, overclock, change settings, whatever. If you want to blow some money on some hardware, I would probably go with a processor...

You probably shouldn't be getting FPS that low with the stuff you have said, what cpu do you have? You can probably get way more FPS if you tweak a tad.

Good luck!
i have p4 2.53ghz, 1gb pc2700 ram, gf4 ti4200 turbo, sb audigy, asus p4pe mobo.

I typically get around 70-150fps
depends on map
oh, everything is maxed, terrain, graphics, etc.
I got a 2.4 p4, gf4200, 512 ram, I normally get aroud 70-150 fps. All my t2 specs are maxed too.

I get the same FPS with
XP1700 at 2.1ghz 512mb pc2700, gf4ti4600. Resolution at 1280x1024 and everything all the way up cept for shadows.
dual amdxp 3000+ overclocked to roughly 3.4ghz Watercooled.
2gb of PC3700 DDR

i get around 240-350 fps

don't belive me? take a look at my fps.

If you are using a Ge Force 3 and 512 DDR at 333 you should be getting atleast 80 to 120 FPS. Thats what I get and my processor is only an Athlon Thunderbird 1.4. My graphic settings in game are all maxed out and resolution is 1024 x 768. Make sure your vertical sync is turned off in game and out of game. This makes a big difference.

your vid card and ram seem fine.. i would guess you should upgrade your cpu (dunno 4 sure cus u failed to mention).. esp if your only getting sub 30 with that or maybe some of your settings are jacked...

Ok ok ok... what about motherboards? I'm sorry, I should have specified that's what I'm most interested in. I'm going to go Athlon this time around I believe.

My current system is:

Windows XP
Jetway s446 motherboard (I'm not so sure about this thing)
P4 1.6 Ghz processor
Geforce 3
512 megs of RAM
60 Gig Maxtor Hard Drive
Soundblaster Live! 5.1

Just from the looks of it I know this machine should be putting out a whole lot more, but it's not.

I've had several different clean installs and I'm pretty sure I've done nothing irregular that would be causing problems. Latest drivers, no instabilties or conflicts from what I can tell.

Tweaked with T2 and other vid card settings, but those aren't going to increase my FPS tenfold.

I'm just wanting to be done with the thing and move on to something I know is going to rock.
