I realize that this will be a bit inconvenient for some players, but we will be instituting a 1 week extension in the length of playoffs to allow the 3rd ranked teams in each division to play. This means that the first set of matches will not be seed 1 vs. seed 2, but seed 2 vs. seed 3 and seed 1 vs. seed 4 (the latter may turn out to be byes, depending on the 4th ranked teams' activity).

The reasons for this are a bit complicated. Suffice it to say, the point totals worked out in such a way that there is a high chance that we will see point ties in both divisions next week. This means that, depending on what kind of tiebreaking system we use, different teams would advance. This is further complicated by the earlier dispute between HeXy and Toys' teams, which affected overall point totals in such a way that it could indirectly eliminate Rayne.

Again, I realize some people may grumble, but to my mind there is no justification for lawyering who does/doesn't make playoffs, rather than letting teams compete for it.

It determined seeding ! And your team doesnt get excluded from tourney bc of some shenanigans from other teams.

Now if HeXy manages to win 1.5 maps this weekend Rayne's team isn't eliminated because of HeXy's free 3 point inflation (Hawson debacle)

If either Fling or Redeye win 3-0 this week, the losing team won't have to worry about how the tie with Fett's is broken (sorry Caylen's team) even though they both beat Fett 2-1

So let's get this straight. We get ties with Hexy because guy doesn't know his demos are in classic folder instead of base.

Finds out he has the demos, submits them.

Nothing found, yet we still are stuck with ties with Hexy's team. I am rly sorry, but what are admins afraid of? If you can't submit the demos, team should get a forfeit loss. If the person does submit the demo, then review it and make a decision from there. It's not like somebody can pull a demo out of thin air.

Now because of this, Rayne is pissed because his team is at a huge disadvantage (understandable). But to solve the problem, you basically have a vote 2/3 of the way through RR to allow all teams through to SE. You KNOW that any team that is in danger of not making SE is going to vote to have all teams advance to playoffs. Why wouldn't they?

I am not envious to be in any sort of power position and have to deal with all this crap, but this overall seems like two very odd decisions.

Just the facts here but:

Hexy's Team was tentatively given ties for all 3 maps against Toys's team, because of questions about mossy oak.

Mossy oak is proven to be completely clean, and nothing was wrong with his demos. Thus nothing interfered with the legitimacy of those three maps.

Yet somehow, the results of those maps (which are verified to be legitimate), are still not correctly reported? Moreover, the entire playoff structure gets changed to accomodate this?

And the kicker? The admin who made the decision on this, tripped, is someone who is not involved in tribes at all.

Yea, those 3 maps should be changed to all WINS for HeXy since the demos prove that m0ssy is a smurf!

*However if within the Allotted 24 hr Dispute posting time. A team discovers a player on the opposing team is a Smurf,Doubleclanner,ringer or suspended player. The team is allowed to Dispute the Match results.

if your team really is king it will have the synergy to be #1 in the playoffs regardless of this happening or not
