Dual core question

I upgraded from single to dual and now T2 seems to run slower. Low frame rate and a little choppy. Any way to fix this? I have a Opty 170 running my machine now.
apparently dual doesnt run with t2
idk its just what ive heard from others

You might add this to your autoexec.cs:

SetPerfCounterEnable(0);

It may help.
yea my t2 runs slower with DC than it did witout it.
Thats odd... I'me running an intel core 2 duo E6400 and have no probs. =\
I'm on an AMD X2 3800+ and installed the CPU drivers from AMD's website. You should check this page for your processor's "Utilities & Updates" section and download the appropriate driver for Windows XP or Linux.

I think the link is the same for X2 or Opteron, and a direct download is here.
Fixed it! Runs great now.

Go to properties on T2 shortcut, Click Compatibility tab, Change to Windows 2000 or NT, And change display to 640 x 480.

Went from 60 to 240 fps. @ 1900 x 1200 resolution. Thanks for the ideas guys.
dual core rocks socks

Compare the "single CPU" speed of your dual core to the full speed of a non-dual core system. For instance, a 3.2G dual core, if split in half yields 1.6G capability for a single-threaded application (T1, T2, T:V are all single threaded). Whereas a 3.2G hyperthread machine in theory is capable of using the entire 3.2G (minus a tiny bit) for your single threaded app. Thus, for most games, a dual core is not yet the way to go. As more games become multi threaded, or dual core speeds go up, that will change...

Once you have T2 running,Task Manager>Process>Right Click Tribes2.exe>Set Processor Affinity. Un-check one of the CPUs. As long as your DT doesn't UE on minimize/maximize it should resolve the issue.

Doh, didn't see where you already fixed the issue. Oh well.
