pretty sure they are illegal but i dont know if CDC checks for them. I know the nostromo 52 or w/e gamepad is horrible for them. You can do uber quick gun swaps and fire on single fire as fast as you do on auto but with the recoil of single.

I never used a gamepad like that but i've seen vid clips of how much of an advantage the macro's can be so i hope it is illegal.

Was wondering the same thing.
I think its a bind using the keyboard, not sure
When you assign one key to perform single or multiple actions on a precise timing scale, otherwise known as a action loop. MMPORGS basically made macroing what it is. Macros developed for an FPS could elable you to have a precise pattern of:

Fire/crouch/fire/crouch/jump/crouch/fire/straferight/jump/fire/crouch

And the timing and action would be controled, in essence, by the computer and not the user. The user would have to define the keystorkes and timing, but after that, the user would only have to hit one button to perform the squence, and could loop the sequence to never end, or only end when a certain condition is met.

Macros are used in everything from Excel/Word to online gaming. Predefined subset of actions.

*Edit: One thing to add, double action keybinds are mini (simple) macros and are illegal when performing actions at TWL (actions, not commo-messages). Knowing that, I would assume macros on the broader sense would be illegal, if they were being used to perform the same illegal keybinds activated through the normal process within AA. In other words, using a gamepad to create an illegal macro function for use in AA (simulating a built in function) should be illegal, but I have no idea on the liklihood of detection of such a macro.

Thats what I was gona say.......lol
seems like another hardware thing you can't possibly detect or police, just like a external amp or a high dollar video card. Reminds me of the suped-up controllers for old school nintendo games that had a adjustable speed turbo button. That's how I rolled.

lmao tape!
i just banged on the button so often, my thumb is permanently flattened. been decades and it still feels funny.
A macro as explained does multi functions at once. It's is not bound in AA itself but in windows or via the software that comes with said control pads etc.

As i mentioned you can fast swap even faster then normal fast swap, you can fire on single as fast or faster then auto but with the acuracy of single shot etc or many other things.

There are bad imo, and against the rules i just dont know if cdc detects them i know pb can't cause it's not bound in AA itself.....

well, PB can detect and kick things bound to certain keys, but that requires altering cvar checks.
About a year and a half ago I remember scrimming some team where a guy was doing that. They were even bragging in global chat about how he was using single shot, but of course he was firing it super-fast. But it definitely did not sound like normal full-auto. Anybody that has played aa for more than a day would be able to tell if someone was macro'ing single shot.

this isn't a keybind... nothing in your ini would change (at least i don't think so)..

i'm waiting for an admin to say whether or not these are legal. Seems like just another hardware advantage.
the admins are flipping the quarter on this one.... how 'bout best of 100....
they probably have thier secret thread in their secret forums talking behind our backs, secretly
This question has been asked in the past, and if I recall correctly the answer was always: "why make a rule that we can't enforce"

You would be able to hear it on demo.
