CD KEY

Well, the problem is I lost/threw away all my SWAT crap except the CDs. I have the game installed and working on an old comp, but got a new one and need the key. So I was wondering if there is a way to get the cd key from my old pc.


Any prog or something?

Should be able to find it through a regestry key but I'm not sure exactly where.

Yea it is in the registry at hkey_local_machine/SOFTWARE/sierra/CDKEYS

The problem is it's in Binary Code...there might be away to convert it but I wouldn't have a clue how.

well actually I've already thought of that. I installed the game on this pc with a bogus cd key that doesn't work in most serers then transfered the cd key registry files from my other pc and added them to this registry. However, still getting the same damn prob. I'll try your site though kobbie.

I went into registry editor and its all letters and numbers. I went to view the key and there's three formats that the reg editor will change it to. Byte, Word, and Dword.

triple post - I found the hex. According to a reg file, it reads [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sierra\CDKeys]
"swat4"=hex:xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx,xx
those are the exact amount of numbers and format. I replaced the numbers since I don't want someone running off with the damn key.

All the converters I've tried have not converted it, though all the numbers/letterse are between 0-9 and a-f like all hex values are supposed to be. Any ideas?

I bought it off Direct2drive.com, even though I'm sure that's gonna screw me over in the long run with some punkbuster thing or patch or expansion.

What did you do to get her working?

just transfered all registry files having to do with swat and replaced all the ones in my registry with the ones I transfered.
