I'm curious as to what other players have been playing lately.
Seeing as how BFBC2 lasted about half a year or less, and that BF2 is now finally dead.. what games are people playing? And, more specifically, what games are people actually playing in competition - if any?
I feel as if competition other than in TF2 or Source is pretty much.. well.. dead. It's a sad day.
MoH is plagued with problems and never gained popularity.
CoD is, well, a joke.
Any battlefield game is probably a year or so away.
I find myself wasting time playing CoDMW2 on the ps3 (haven't bought black ops) and occasionally Fallout: New Vegas on the PC. But I don't get the same feeling playing anything these days that BF1942 still gives me.. or any BF game for that matter in competition. The strategy and complexity involved stands above the rest in my opinion. There's nothing like correctly positioning yourself in what seems to be a lost battle when you're about to face 3-4 other tanks, and then somehow coming out on top via strategy or movement.
Other than that, I pub CS:S occasionally but even that is seeing it's downfall competitively. Then there's Unreal Tournament 3 - which probably died off quicker than any game I've ever seen. Hell, in the first two months of it's release most servers were full of bots.
So, what are you guys playing? I'd like to hope that these forums would stay up for a bit longer after this tourney but unless this game gains more interest and another one is held after Thanksgiving I don't see that happening - which is unfortunate, as there aren't really any forums out there to begin with anymore..
