Putting out some Bay area LAN feelers

Ok, here is the deal, my clan has had LANs around San Fran for the last few years. Last year we tried to host a big ass LAN but our co-hosts wanted to play old games like Tribes1 and I think it killed our attendence. This year we are looking to do the same thing, hold a big LAN in the Bay area with the focus being on as many recent games as possible with BF1942 as our flagship.

What I need to put feelers out for is whether any people/teams would want to co-host or just attend this LAN. The LAN would run Fri/Sat/Sun, $50 entry (give or take) and our target is late June-July. We already have a good list of sponsors but we are always looking to add to it, hopefully with some bigger names.

Right now our tournament list would be something like:

BF1942
T2 Classic
America's Army
SoF2

It would really depend on how many teams would be willing to play what games. HomeLAN would be taking care of the servers so that's no problem.

My goal for this LAN would be 200 people tops, 100 min Right now we are just trying to find a hall that could handle that capacity...

add sof2 to the list and i can get about 40 or so people to attend (about 1/2 play 1942 as well)
done deal.

Wolven, don't know how many you are expecting or can handle, but posting a LAN post in each of the TWL Game Forums that you intend to have a focus on would be good. Lot of gamers in lots of these forums.

So if BF1942 and Tribes 2 will be the focus, put some posts there too, I'd love to see a large BF and T2 crew at a nice big summer LAN.
yeah, we are looking for halls this week in the Bay area with hopes of a 200 person capacity. If we find a hall, I will turn around and start advertising hard.
how about Kansas?

Awesome.. we like it hard..

yes must have hardness ... can't wait for this lan party, being a tribes 2 and battlefield 1942 player makes it that much more interesting and that much more fun for me to see the looks on your TASTEY faces when our clan has some ownage. well we'll see.
awesome wolven... keep us posted!
ok, we have a hall with a T1 line that can hold 100 gamers. The hall will also have 24 computers on site for gamers that can't bring their rigs and then the other 76 gamers will have their own equipment.

This place also has Xbox and PS2 stations set up on 50inch screen TVs and other such goodies. We are still waiting on a price for the weekend but everything is looking good.

We'll have a website up soon also.
looks like ill be owning Xbox as well as the other games we will play..sigh.
If I must!
anyone have a 4 way plug-in(plug 4 xbox's together=16 ppl)
Ill bring my 4 controllers if needed.
Can we set up a Tigers Woods 2003 tourny too..

Ya, it's called a Hub and network cables.

I'll bring MechAssault and Halo.
Update:

We have the hall and they have agreed to a price. It looks like we will be going with 100 person capacity and then we'll see if we can squeeze extras on top of that.

Currently, it looks like the date for this will be July long weekend (4th-6th). This gives people the ability to drive in from out of town and gives me another reason to drink! not that I needed it.

Our plan would be to make Saturday the main tournament (BF1942) and then organise the rest of the games around that. HomeLAN should be providing enough servers that we can have multiple matches run simultaneously.

Mandrake and I will start building the website for the LAN and tournaments now and we will get back to building a sponsor list. Then I'll get a new thread going and demand it to be stickied!

Sunnyvale, CA
