So I have this computer, runs vista has a 64 bit nvidia graphics card, single palyer runs fine and dandy but i can only stay in online server for about 10 seconds. Punkbuster isn't the problem as I was kicked from a punk buster server as well. Any ideas how to fix this?

PunkBuster may very well be the problem? There was a big update recently to both the pb files and pbsetup; get the new version and run it: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Another problem may be the Vista firewall? It's crap, so you shouldn't use it. Comodo is much better and it's free. Just make sure to watch the install so you don't get the toolbar, and make sure to run all your online games with the Defense and Security Level and Firewall both set to 'training mode'. After it learns your behavior you can then set it to 'Clean PC' and 'Safe Mode' respectively. Or, you can pick another firewall if Comodo isn't to your liking: http://www.matousec.com/projects/firewall-challenge/results.php Just pick one that actually works. You're also going to need to allow PnkBstrA, PnkBstrB and PnkBstrK through the firewall.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "64-bit graphics card?" If you mean that you're running 64-bit Vista, then I can tell you it runs the game sweet. If you want to avoid the random ctd's that plague many Vista users, don't have more than 1 profile.

Apparently, Vista really hates it when you start changing your game name; it's a WoW/Visualization thing that we don't need to get into, just know this is a flaw you can't get around. If I ever want to start ctd'ing, all I have to do is change my name, then bAAm, desktop. That's the only problem I've had with Vista and BF. As long as you just keep one profile and don't change your name, Vista runs the game just as reliably as XP.

If you're using a wireless router, get ethernet.

That's all I've got, hope it helps?
WHAT error do you get? General Authentication error, or something like I had (Disallowed Program/Driver)? I submitted a ticket to evenbalance, and in the meantime tried another computer for a few days. I went back to this one, and no more error. I would recommend deleting your PB folder, and downloading the PB updater program from http://www.evenbalance.com.

It just says disconnected from the server, no specific kick or anything
There's nothing about Vista, per se, that would cause this; stuff like that occasionally happens with XP too. It's hard to say whether it's a result of a server glitch, a BF glitch or an internet hiccup, but it's definitely not an OS issue, at least under normal circumstances.

The fact that it's happening so often suggests something is wrong with your install, PB or your connection? There's nothing internet related you could tweak in Vista that would help; Vista uses the same IPv4 XP does... at least in the U.S. and at least online.

Give the suggestions above a shot and see if you're still having problems. Btw, are you running Defender, Live One Care, AV, Indexing, or any other resource hungry Vista crap?
Alright so now i downloaded that punkbuster updater and now i keep getting kicked for service communication failure with PnkBstrA.exe. How do I fix that? And I really appreciate all of the help guys

Check your firewall. It could be blocking the connection to PB.
Nobody has said this yet so I had to..

too much pr0n dude
It isn't the firewall, i turned my firewall off and it still got that same error message. Kara, I'm keeping my porn, fuck u!
...so nobody knows what is wrong with my punkbuster?
