Ok, I want to start by stating that the winner will be featured on an upcoming tournament or other post. Now for the guidelines:

1) Can use any program to create it, can use stock pictures or screenshots.
2) No part of the graphic can violate copyrite laws, if it is found to do so the entry will be disqualified.
3) Must be unique, as in you created it, don't take someone elses work and slap your name on it. If this is found to happen the entry will be disqualified.
4) Have fun and you can create up to 5 entries per player.
5) The format must be as follows: 200 x 600 .
6) Agree that if you win the item created becomes the property of TeamWarfare League and logos of TWL and Art of War Central may be added to the final project.

Think you have what it takes, give it a try, starting as of this post with an final submission date of: Nov 30 2009. Winner shall be announced on: Dec 4 2009.

For more information contact:

princeofhonor@teamwarfare.com or stop by our IRC channel on: GameSurge #twl_cs.
What do you get for winning?

So your picture gets used, even though they wont say who made it?

This is typical of any contests
When we choose the winner you will be noted.
Would we get a title under our name?
Banner Contest Winner?
We could probably do something like that
What about a dual effort on it? Can 2 people work on one?

Why not
Awesome! I got a good lay out, I just fail at making it look umm "shiny?"
Is it horizontal or vertical? I normally think of a banner of horizontal but your format says 200 by 600, and thats vertical. I just want to double check.
general format of dimensions: row by column.

so if its 200 x 600, then its got less rows but more columns making it horizontal.

Don't mind me, its the engineer inside me

So what resolution is your monitor? Why do I get a vertical image when I enter those dimensions into GIMP?

Not sure I had this problem using gimp, fixed it by using another free program called: http://www.irfanview.com/ , that should help.
I think what they want to know is do you want it this way
200x600

or this way
600x200

Ya thats what I'm wondering. I normal banner is left to right, but 200 x 600 is up to down.

I'm not having a problem. I'm telling the person I replied to he is wrong and giving examples.

This is the way. If you look to the right that is where the TeamWarfare banners go.

No this is not a banner for the right side, it should be from left to right. This will be used as a news release graphic or added to a tournament page, please note that all entries will be considered free for use by TeamWarfare League and Art of War Central in promoting competition(s) or special event(s). In using the image TeamWarfare League will provide credit to the maker under the banner. The winner of this contest will get a special name added to their account that will be listed rather then TWL Member. This is the first stage of many projects, including a reach out to the CS:S community about TeamWarfare League to hopefully attract some attention to our competition(s). Since Gun Game is our biggest ladder event we are currently focusing our efforts on this area.

Coming Soon:

- Reverse (Gun Game) Ladder
- Special Event ( Keeping this a suprise for now. )
I am happy to hear this!
Anyone else going to try their hand at this? Currently we have 5 banner(s) submitted thus far, this is a chance to show your stuff and you can use it for references in the future. Your name will be added as the creator, it is a great change to show your skills, if you do graphic design it might even get you noticed.
