Yesterday I was beaten by a total n00b team. My ally was Kunt_Master(x)...I expect to lose when I play with him..he sux. Anyways...I was doing fine..scouted both opponents early and found that they were gonna do the typical orc/human thing...human mass caster, orc = gruntz and WD's. Ok...so we're on LT..I was fucking clearing my fucking expansion and a fucking AM walked into my base and blizzardededed my gold mine...which the computer didn't alert me to until like the third wave of ice shards....so after it tells me I'm under attack, 2 acolytes are already fucking dead. This was the game, imo. Does the computer fuck up like this a lot? It really did cost us the game. And then the pompous bitch says "how does your ass feel after that rape..". wtf? ugh I hate losing to trash like that...ESPECIALLy when the comp doesn't tell me I'm under attack. I've never had this happen to me before last night and figured ppl were lying when they told me that's why they lost some games, but now I believe em.

I hear it's like forgetting to put that last wisp on....
No that's your fault :P OMG you shoulda seen it...this guy (on azeroth of course...even east coast noobs are worse than west coast noobs :P) had 5 on his mine, and like 6 or more just sitting around the mine. Good fun.

Back to the issue.. Anyone else have the computer not alert you to an attack?

all the time, but it seems only to not work when they're attacking my base (usually farms) or peons. The worst is if you have a hero out somewhere and it doesnt say anything and all you see is "Our hero has been slain ... "
Dude that sucks.. I haven't had that yet. So far just a raped gold mine... ugh.. that's such bullshit. If I had been alerted, I could have easily ran back to my base in time, or at least I could have moved the acolytes away.

I often change the color scheme to just yellow/red on the mini-map, and keep a watchful eye on it. You may want to try this if the audio queue isn't working well.

And yeah...I've had the audio queue fail to make announcements.
May want to do some tests on this.

There may be certain types of attacks that are more likely to not give an audio que. Area effect attacks (like blizard) might be part of the problem.

It may also have something to do with the fact that you were fighting in another place on the map at the same time. If the computer sees that you allready have units that are taking dammage (from the creeps) it may decide that it doesn't need to tell you that you have units that are taking dammage somewhere else as well.
