AA 2.8.5 Released

America's Army Overmatch


Version 2.8.5

...has been released!


With the release, all AA Ladders and Leagues have been temporarily shut down. Please see the sections below for specific information.

WARNING: CDC will not be usable on 2.8.5 until it is updated! More information will be released when the CDC server is fully mission capable!

NA, EU, and Oceanic Ladders:

• All Ladders will be closed until Monday, May 4, 2009.
  
• All current matches are to be rescheduled OR, if requested by either team, killed.
  
• On Monday, May 4, 2009, ladders will resume normal play.

Oceanic Leagues:

• Matches scheduled for May 3rd will be postponed until May 10th.

The update can be downloaded at AmericasArmy.com
TWL recommends that you use some type of download manager for a file this large as there could be file corruption issues.

still no server update for linux :-(

that would be a problem if it isn't released by the 4th for me.. guess i could run it under vmware on the server. 8)

this is what they've been working on? srsly?

if were using deploy client for this 2.8.5 patch.are we going to need to run aa cleaner again? and will there be an updated version of that also.

The Deploy Client is the preferred method of TWL. We are still unsure of the exact methods what need to be taken regarding this new patch. But stay tuned, we will inform you all when we get the information needed.

awsome find..checking clanwarz now to see if their auto update is up yet if not ill do that....u get 5 princess points for that kk lol

as i know clanwarz already did it, so no problem with patching their servers

yup ur right i updated last night but did not have a chance to post...3 of my 4 kids are upchucking all over...yesterday was a bad day.....:-(

Update isn't too bad, though I noticed a couple of glitches on SF Courtyard

so far the only one worth the update is bridge....the tunnel is pretty neat....

yeasterday i was playing on new Courtyard and after each round we noticed huge lag, like nearly 30 sec, hope it is temporary and will not affect any matches

CDC Primary has been updated to 2.8.5. Please test to make sure you have no connection issues.

How's the game doing? I just redownloaded the game after year(s).

I get Discrepancies... says my AAEditor.exe does not match CRC's

I got the core for 2.8.5 and downloaded the editor right after and installed.

I think you guys have the wrong editor exe for CDC

tested cdc works fine for me , vista 32 and patched to 2.8.5 from deploy

Note: If anyone else gets a mismatch for the editor now it is because you have an old version of it. Please go to the deploy client and download the updated version.

It’s a server side update. You don’t need to update your CDC just open your CDC and connect.

ok well tried that says i got 98 miss match files...... so any help would be appreciated.

look i got myself up and running.you, twl really need to make this clear as to what to do. with some step by step directions on how others need to get running again.your twl scripts still say for aa 2.4 is there 2.8.5 scripts and where are they?

There's no ETA yet on the new 2.8.5 scripts.

Teams are to use the old TWL cvar checks meant for 2.8.4 (Version: 4.6.1r4 Date: 12/27/08)

Primary CDC server is updated. If players get Discrepancies regarding AAEditor.exe please head to our Downloads section and download the AAEditor.exe file and place it in your Americas Army/System folder.

It means ppl want the new game not some shitty patch that, from what i can tell without actually downloading it, just has some new features that TWL is turning of anyways.

i think the new stuff is a prep for http://3.0.but im getting lag on our server from it.i wish aa would fix stuff like bunny hoping and lag issues.plus that stupid ied blows you up beacause you forget its there.not a very good patch.
