Vote: CoD:UO 4v4 CTF Rifles Only Ladder?

Would your team be interested in competing in a CoD:UO 4v4 CTF Rifles Only Ladder? Allowing only Bolt Action Rifles, Smoke Grenades, and Binoculars, we would follow the same rule set as the CoD:UO 2v2 Rifles Only Ladder.

A vote is up to see if there is enough interest in the idea. This vote also includes such ideas as enabling Jeeps and map choices, i.e.: American maps, or just German, Russian and British ones? The vote will end Tuesday February 15th 2005.

One major setback of the 2v2 Ladder is the size of the maps. IMO, adding 2 members per side won't shrink the larger maps much. I really don't consider jeeps as a big alternative, as the damn things are death traps.

With the addition of all the vanilla CoD maps, there really shouldn't be a lack of maps if we take out the really large ones like kharkov, rhine, ponyri, etc. Italy isn't extremely large, and foy makes up with the flags being fairly close to each other. Foy being an American map, however, may not be an issue.

Just something else to consider.

I think that if you allow the the American maps, you should turn on the semi auto rifles for the germans to make it fair. There is also a mod out for such things. They make the Grand into basically a bolt action rifle and not a semi auto and makes it more powerful for the one shot kills. Just my two cents..

How long do these votes usually run for? And how many votes do you need to create the ladder?

seems to me like there is already enuf headed towards the "yes" direction to get things started... however some of the votes regarding american / jeeps are too close.

yea heck yea having 4v4 ctf rifles only would be really but really awesome to have a match in I vote YES
but about the american and jeeps the matches would be better held w/o jeeps and in some maps theres american just do wat most all of the others do put russians as a replacement for americans.

american maps and jeeps will create more disputes over how people got killed and by what weapon. If its going to be rifles only it needes to be rifles only and smoke gernades

I totaly agree with that. I run a rifle server and have the american rifles mapped to the nagent. Works out great, plus you get the benefit of using the maps with the american team.

No jeeps, just bolts and smokes.

I think jeeps are necessary for larger maps such as Karkhov

Also there is either a mod or a simple way so swap in the Mosen or Lee-Enfield for Americans.

No jeeps!!!! it will take all the fun and all the strategy of the game with rifles only...

with jeeps it will be no fun every team will be able to score, just take the flag get in a jeep and drive really fast...NO FUN! NO STRATEGY!

I agree, I've played matches with and w/out jeeps...

For rifles only jeeps shouldn't be included

1) There's no weapons to destroy them.
2) The MG's Can't be disabled.
3) Lessens the stalking factor of rifle matches.

the only positive of having jeeps on is:

1) Big maps aren't so looong.

To me Rifles Only is meant to take longer and be more of a camper type match... and the disadvantages of having jeeps outweights the advantages.

I mean you could try and say hey don't use the jeeps MG's like you do on certain maps that you can't disable them..

but most likely there will be about 40 other clans that do it anyways not knowing the rules, or simply saying it was a "accident" once again ruining a match.

No jeeps, bolts only, include UO remake maps...except Harbor...that map got royally screwed up

I love Rifles, my absolute favorite ladder. Best part about it is the hunt. It is incredibly intense! Nothin better.

Sounds good, but maps should be limited to small maps, plus the COD maps covnerted to UO. Take out the large maps and the jeeps will not be required.

that mod sounds very good, its about time we started to play some American maps without having to worry about the semis.
