Could the written rules include all the rules, please?

Simple request.

Please?
Please?
Explain which rules should be included.

/kill illegal.

$1000 says he says that.
And anything else that isnt there.

My clan has even been told (like a month ago) that /kill would be put in the rules.
I asked in another thread for it to be put in the rules, the admins that posted in the thread ignored my requests.

They said /kill is a common sense rule.

Well from the number of teams I have seen that use it and the fact that it is legal in other twl games, its not a common sense "illegal" rule.
It needs to be in the rules.

If I see another team doing this, since I know I cant do it, I want a way to actually tell them to stop doing it without having to go get an admin to personally tell them.

The first time I was told this was illegal, we had a teammate go check the rules during our match.
It wasnt there...
Oh, and if something like this isn't in the rules, I can't imagine what else isn't.

So, Could the written rules include all the rules, please?
all you have to do is dispute the results....but only certain people can edit the rules. Not all admins have accesss to edit the rules. post the rules you want in other then /kill being illegal.
what is the rule or protocall for when match starts and pings are fine and 5 mins into match your team starts lagging out and other team has no proplem ?

i looked in rules, all it says if server crashes. or if you haveing ping proplem at the begaining. what rule when it starts way into match play. when you have guys at 50 ping at start of match then way into match go to 700 ping all on your side not theres.
k, we know /kill is illegal. I have witnessed something similar however, this being team killing on ctf. When the players health bar is low, another member of the team would shoot them to have them respawn with full health. Obviously this does not effect score cause that is based on the number of time you capture the flag. Is this strategical move to get full health illegal?

it's always good to have an extra member idling in IRC channels, so just in case there is a problem, you can get in contact with an admin, without stopping the match.

USUALLY, an agreement could be made between two clans to handle it on their own terms if the pings are outrageous such as that. that's also why everyone should post an IP/password for their server, even if they plan to play the full match in their opponent's server.

I dont want to win a game because of rules that arent written.

My clan was TOLD this was going to be done, but nothing has been done!
/kill is illegal?

haha wtf?

Common sense says if I am almost dead I should do a /kill so I can be an effective player on my team. If I am on D and almost dead I am not very effective. If I go on an O run and get shot a couple of times along the way what good am I to my team? Doing a /kill doesn't give one team an advantage over another.

What I think is worse than doing a /kill is getting one or two caps and then putting the majority of people on D.

But to the point. How do you inforce a rule that isn't in the rules? Seems like you could just make up anything you wanted to be a rule if that is the case.

To vorg doing a /kill is wrong. To me its smart.
and to the admins it's illegal

http://www.teamwarfare.com/forums/showthread.asp?forumid=239&threadid=190011&page=1

so if you suicide yourself with a nade is that illegal? if another player intentionally shoots you is that illegal?
Yes. It's illegal. Both to /kill yourself, and have a teammate shoot you intentionally. Cooking a frag and blowing yourself up on PURPOSE is also illegal.

Why?

This has already been covered. Not but a week ago. Basically, it gives an advantage to the team that's doing it. Changing spawns, making non effective assaults even more uneffective, and it's CHEAP.

Would you shoot yourself in the head during Search and Destroy because you don't have enough health? No.

So why do it here? To gain the advantage because you BARELY won a 1v1 with somebody else? If you have low health, grab some health packs.

its stupid to have unenforceable rules.

Throwing a nade and "accidentially" getting too close to it can not be ruled as "illegal". So making rules against it will just start an administrative nightmare for TWL. Every idiot team and their brother will be trying to protest based on some team killing themselves on purpose to get a fresh spawn.

Suicide for a new spawn was a common occourance in Tribes. If you were a defensive player and you chased a flag carrier you would kill yourself at the end of the chase to get your health back and get back to base.

The only real way to decrease the value of suiciding...is to increase the spawn a bit so killing yourself becomes much harder to justify.

better add it in the rules then. i could care less if any team used that against my team. to me its legal until stated in the rules section.

well, i'll state it for you now. if you use it, you WILL face the consequences. and you can't claim ignorance on your behalf as an excuse.

I think this is the problem. I didn't think /kill was illegal but then the TWL Admin clearly stated it in the forum, which is good enough for me. What happens to all the teams that don't read the forum?

It may be impossible to completely define every rule, such as suiciding by cooking nades, but a general guideline that repetitive (meaning more than one) suicide can be a cause for a match dispute and an Admin will review to decide if it gave the offending team an advantage or if it was done intentionally and if deemed so by the admin it will be ruled an automatic forfeit.

Adding "/kill is illegal unless you are stuck in a map glitch" should be very simple. A quick one line add. It eliminates all the problems.

This is a unique area that slipped through the cracks and because it is legal in other games it should be defined in the rules.

/kill , suicide, and TK to GAIN AN ADVANTAGE is illegal - accidental tk's and suicides will be ruled by admin, and /kill to get unstuck from a map glitch ( i.e. in Sicily there is a glitch where you can get stuck spawning on a post).

Listen if you purposely kill yourself in anyway visible in your demo then its illegal. If you throw your nade and run onto it its illegal. If you /kill its illegal. If you cook your nade forever its illegal. All of these topics have been covered by multiple admins and a lot of public people. If you don't understand why i suggest you go into #twl_cod and discuss this with an admin. Just post the rules that you think should be in the rules for the ladders.
