following the sof2 trend.. I tried my hand at movie making..

The frags arenst spectacular nor is the cinematics.. It was fun to make and I learned alot..

Enough to make me want to make a better one in the future.
Enjoy!

I am hella fat! No really I have a fat ass!
woot I love to see new movies.. I'm glad that its finally picking up a little.. it is certainly a bitch to make those movies.. aoi.intrepid is currently working on one (I'm helping a little :P) which should be incredible and there is nothing more time consuming then going through hundreds of demos to find that right footage, then perfecting the speed and timing with your song and chunking out Gigs and Gigs of screenshots to string em all together in the end.

My hats off to anyone who puts one out

I'll watch it tonight when I'm not at work.. /me looks around for his boss.

hehe
videos rock
getting them put together correctly IS a bitch and a half though
I am still working on the same one I have been on for like 3 weeks
(off and on)
I am using adobe's video editing stuff to put some nice fades and text (random video stops and zoom ins on smoothed stills to point out whats 'about' to happen ;p)

I have about 18 minutes of it finished so far
yeah .. going through all my demos was kinda fun though ;p

sweet one btw hallowed

My only request is for people to put the game sounds in their movie...

yeah
its a little duanting at first but once you actually try it out things go smoothly
this all reminds me of back in the day when vcd's were first coming around thanks to college internet access ;p
hey, how would i go about editting this sort of file, err how do you guys do it...i know how to edit regular/standard mpeg, avi etc. but which program do you use to convert the demo into a standard video file? or is it another way that you're doing it? thanks
there is a console command called:

cl_avidemo # (# = number of frames per second you want to export)

I usually use cl_avidemo 30 which is bound to f5 for me .. then I have cl_avidemo 0 which is bound to f6

Navigate through your demo until you get the section you want to export .. press f5 .. once you get through the section you want to captuer.. press f6.

It exports a sequence of .tga images to your screenshots directory which you can import into a video editing program.

thank you! i read that somewhere also, the avi demo but for some reason it wasnt working for me when i tried before but i will try again
well, it worked but it was laggy as hell! i was getting about 9 fps (i dont have a shit computer either damn) while it was recording at 30 fps, it ran better recording at 1 fps haha 1, but it was still laggy as hell...any option to free the lag like synchronousclients 0 when recording a regular demo? thanks again
What you want to do.. is record your demo.. in your normal fashion.. then during when you are viewing your demo playback.. export your images.. and it will be laggy when you export it.. 900k x 30/per second D: ..

another words, dont try to export WHILE you are making the demo.. do it when you play your demo back.
YA HEAR!
