Cheating Policy, Inquire within:

This is an informative post so that you, the players, are more aware of a situation and what to do should you be involved.

I know a few weeks back we had a discussion regarding admittance of the "general rules set" stating the new changes to the issues regarding banned players and TWL:

HACKING

TWL has a ZERO tolerence policy regarding Game Hacking. This rule covers players who use code to manipulate a particular game for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage over other teams and players. Wallhacks, speedhacks and aimbots are just examples of the types of cheats covered by this rule.

"Testing" or "Trying out" Hack Programs will not be accepted excuses. Simply put "Do Not Install Hacks for any reason"

Ladders:

1. Hacker caught in TWL Match:

- forfeiture of the existing game
- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team, Loss of rungs 20%. In cases of ladders having few teams they will be dropped to the bottom.

2. Hacker Caught in Match outside of the ladder (League match) or in a match outside of TWL:

- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team, Loss of rungs 20%. In cases of ladders having few teams they will be dropped to the bottom.

3. Hacker caught in a Pub/Scrim :

- Player banned from TWL for 1 yr.
- 2nd Offense Perma Banned.

Admin Notes:
- TWL will continue to support teams who Police themselves of hackers and cheaters. In the case where a team Purges a hacker from their ranks and brings it to the attention of TWL staff. TWL will (waive the Drop in ladder rungs)

At the time your opinions very strongly wished to continue with the practice of "ladder specific rules" overwriting "general rules" - and we stuck with that.

It has come to my attention, however, that this section is not actual a "general rule" but TWL Policy. Therefore, we have no choice but to lift bans on players who's catch date was 1 year ago or longer, unless we can prove that the date/time coincide with a TWL or other league related match.

Before the moans and groans of disdain ensue, please note that this is not being enforced without having been fought against, as all of your SOF2 admins have posted against such actions in favor of individual community needs.

And before those reading this who feel this may get them back into the good graces of sof2 gaming start dancing, please note that there are still questions being answered that will affect how and when your ban will be removed.

If you feel you or a teammate are in a situation where you may benefit from such a ban removal - you are to email all 3 sof2 staff members (just copy and paste this line:
rebequa@teamwarfare.com , deadone@teamwarfare.com , g_iga@teamwarfare.com ) and we will keep a running tab on research requests until all our questions have been sufficiently answered by the Higher Powers.

I appologize in regards to this turn of events, and hope that after the anger flares, it will subside and players continue to enjoy their gaming experience here at TWL. Please try to remember that we are doing what we can to change the situation - and if you have a direct complaing regarding the policy, please feel free to email qualitycontrol@teamwarfare.com

I will keep this post open/unlocked as long as comments/remarks do not turn sour to the point of ludicrousness.
Anyone who cheat's should get a life long ban, no matter what game they are playing....
and i sent an e-mail to quality control.....

everyone else should do the same

Agreed. Its hard enough catching all these dipshits that cheat and come back with a different IP, CDkey etc. Fuck 'em. They made their choice. But on a positive note, maybe the ladder will get an extra team or 2.

I understand your hands are tied, but just what I think.
*****************UPDATE***************************

arguing pays off Game specific rules CAN override the rules set - we CAN and WILL perma-ban players in SOF2.

The only thing we cannot do is ban players on the TWL website if the ban is over 1 year old. They are free to play other games at TWL - just not SOF2.

/me stares closely as deadone wipes the beads of perspiration from his brow as he was contemplating assassinating the ban list...

***********EDIT*****************

Also - if public opinion has changed on this matter at all, we can always re-open discussion. The only thing we would consider is a possible unban on players with only 1 offense against them, many many moons ago - but again, that is up to public opinion. It can be good for the community to have the extra player base, but not at the expense of the players we already have.

Keep em banned and let Jammer have his way with them!
Ok perfect solution to "our" problem.
Let's unban them all, will tell em all is kool ,no worries, what's done is done. Then will invite them to a unbanning party, chill out there for a while music, honeys ,drinks. then once the party is rollin and the drinks are flowin we (the non cfg hoes) beat the living shit out of all of them, break everyone of their haxin fingers. Once that's done will reban them. Ahter that will unban them again and see who shows up for the 2nd party, after all haxors are not that bright, I'd bet 25% of them show up....
All in favor F1.....

Fuck 'em. They can play single player. Nowhere on the box does it state that you have any right to play on a server owned by someone else. It also makes no guarantees that you will be allowed to compete in a league run by someone else. You break the rules, there are repercussions. This isn't pre-school. If TWL wants to ban a player that cheats in one game from competing in matches in another ladder that they run, good for them. I, personally think they should give the perma-boot after you get caught once. Hell, ban 'em from the forums too, I don't wanna read about how their dog accidentally downloaded it. It gets old.
goodbye hackers, f1 to lifelong bans

you know with the right methods you could do just that....

*News Headlines* distraught anti-cheater in the gamming community led a rampage that killed 35 so called hackers* says he found out where they lived using only the banlist and ip addresses....
