You wonder why people like me go on here degrading the game. Well tonight I had yet another good reminder of why I don't care for the game and it's competition. It's not the game itself it's the people that play the game. The clan I'm in (not going to specify because I don't speak for them as a whole I speak on behalf of MY opinion no one elses) played against another clan on another ladder. We waited 30 minutes for more than two people to show. Well they got 4 people eventually, first off they requested that the match type be sabers only when the rules off the ladder we were playing on CLEARLY stated it's not sabers only. We finally got under way with 4 vs 4, not two minutes later one of them dropped so we dropped another player. As the match progressed another of them dropped and they commented on us being "pussies" because we ran away with the flag. After having over half our lineup in spectator mode because we dropped to keep the game even the other team started bitching about the force regen (which I believe was regular) and then they started complaining about the spectators??? Basically showing absolutely no appreciation to the fact that we had evened it for them. We came to play a match we at least wanted to watch after having to drop. Anyway the score was an obvious win for us yet they were tyring to make every excuse.

This is a message for the entire community. The community shoots itself in the foot by these actions, but instead of realizing the source of the problem most of you stupid fuckers blame it on the forum attitudes and people like me saying shit about the game. I have obvious reasons to right now, if you want a good fucking community you ARE the ones that make it what it is.

Fuck it I'm just beating a deadhorse that was JK2 there is no hope the game has been dead for ages.

what do you expect when you play with newbies. these people have no gaming experience, just star wars experience. while this enhances their role playing abilities it ruins competitive play and the community.
you know.. that type of attitude is exactly why I left JKII. Clans that have no respect, or individuals that do their best to bring down the community. I have to comment, in hopes of finding a better game, I picked up Soldier of fortune 2 and loaded it up. Started a clan, and went into competition full guns. You know what happened?

Our first match, the clan we were playing was there early. (I was talking with the leader in AIM for an hour earlier than them even arriving early) We all warmed up together, then got ready to start the match. They were down a couple guys, but insisted we play with the full roster since it was our first match. We played a good solid match with no bickering, insults, or petty excuses. Lots of good sportsmanship and good attitudes. In the end we won because we were up a couple guys. They played amazing being down men and would have won with a full roster. But not only did they not complain, they continued to play with us after the match and helped us fine tune some of our strategies.

I've matched 2 clans since then. Same story. Good sportsmanship is the MAJORITY. NOT the MINORITY.

Amazing huh? I almost thought there was no hope after playing JKII.

FTS did the same for us and all of the other clans we played in JK2. Our request usually is to play a bit earlier since we are european and all clans so far have been cooperative....

Thanks alot for that

Look around, there is enuff JK2 clans who are good sportsmen.

Theres LOTS of new clans who hold great sportsmanship... They may not have the best of skill, and know about twl yet... ( ) but in time they will learn like us..
The game is not dead yet. It still holds the interest of many of us. However, it is no where near as competitive as it once was and some of those who chose to compete are, unfortunately, without a clue. All we can do, as a community, is try to educate these clans and players on how things should work, encourage them to hone their skills, and try to excersize some patience as these reccomendations come to pass. If they choose not to listen or heed our advice, then we can at least say that we gave it our best effort.
Amen Fission. JK2 isn't dead. There are still plenty of good clans out there, but unfortunately many of us are getting pretty soured over the overwhelming immaturity and arrogance that a lot of the new and old clans still dump out. The best that we can do is stick to good, clean play, and not get affected by the morons out there. JK2 isn't the problem, there are assholes everywhere.

Peace
Straight up JK2 is not dead yet :P .. sure the community is in transition but that happens to all communities.

Unfortunately sometimes things can happen that just becomes so frustrating as to make individuals want to leave. Even worse is .. if there is no concern over there departure or no support for there staying then those individuals wiil usaully just go away .. leaving us all who are left behind, that much more at a loss.

That said khz| will always be down with helping out and supporting all you other clans who are serious about building and strengthening this community .. and Geezus dawg .. you can always count on me getting your back anytime you want or need it yo .. and that goes for any of you as well who are down with, as Insomniak put it, 'clean play' .

Looking forward to ever more good times with you all .. that who is left anyways .. rotfl :P
k. enjoy the day.

Well just think about it, the only way the community will get better is with new good clans entering the scene. If they see shit like that they'll consider the ladders a joke and move onto another game, that simple.
We can hope....

not dead yet and I dont see it dying that close in the future.
Eh maybe not completely dying out, but the full version of UT will hit it hard and then the release of star wars galactic galaxies will completely wipeout the newbie community.
Him... those statements could be true...

Good point... but its not dead yet! Im not 1 to just let it die either.
If anything though the release of star wars galactic galaxies will help improve the community. It will kill the newb community off. A few members wanted to become admin so they could weed out the newbie teams on the ladder, but unfortunately this didn't happen it's a shame, because things could have been a lot better, but instead we saw any rpg clan allowed on the ladder like TEL...
