What to do, New t2 patch..

want to get you guys to give me some of your thoughts on what we should do when the patch is released. Lets asume that it will break Renegades enough to make it not playable for ladder use. Here is what I am thinking.

If when it is released it breaks Renegades I think the ladder should be placed on rest. All matches could either be killed off or left as is until a fix is out. Keep in mind it could be weeks before it is released. I do not want to force you to play on old version of T2. This could cause issues with players who want to play other mods that will be newer version. A lot of scripts could also be broken by the patch.

Your input is requested but I will most likely follow whatever the TwamWarfare normally does in this situation. But I would consider any suggestions you may have..

Has anyone put it on a server and tested it out yet?

I know for myself I will wait to upggrade until renegades is done. That is the only mod I play so me waiting to upgrade is no big deal.

i'd probably say put the ladder on rest.

Is the renegades mod even being revised to be compatible with the new patch?

I'm not to keen about putting the ladder on rest, why not have 2 T2 directories and one with new patch and one with old one?

hey i think kod has a good idea and if primal1 has the stuff then we could do it...

Acording to Dweller EzTarget will be updating Renegades to work with the 3rd patch.so we will just have to sit and wait and see what happens.

Kodiak, you're the boss here bud. I agree that we should rest until the ren mod works with the new patch, but if there aren't any problems, I say we keep it business as usual.

Renegades is the only mod I play. If the new patch screws up renegades, I'm going to re-istall and not put in the last patch so I can still play. I'm fairly sure the bulk of ][KOTD][ will do the same. So if you guys want to keep the ladder going, our pub server will be running without the new patch in the case it screws ren up. You guys are welcome to use it for matches as it can be pw protected.

So let me throw this idea into the hat:
If the new patch screws up ren, ladder clans can decide individually to continue competing or to wait until ren is fixed to work with the new patch. The waiting clans won't have their rungs in jeopordy and those clans that want to continue competing can with each other.

do what MW4 did, make yer own in game rules, just hard to stick by em though..

Will do as the ladder does, this game has surpassed the fun value, and is under my book as competition. I hate losing.

I say put the ladder on rest. I can see toomany problems forming with people who play both Ren and other MODs (AFO has a few) and it might be easier on everyone if ladder play was stopped. My opinion however would change if it were going to be more the say 2 or 3 weeks to get Ren working again. If that happens then I am not sure what to do. Any prolonged delay in ladder compition might hurt teams with people leaving to play other games. I guess this all depends on the amount of time we are talking about.

I think that it should be placed in rest unless 2 teams BOTH agree to play under the "current" version (the one we play now). Otherwise, the teams should be allowed to be immune to attacks and have their place secured on the ladder. The teams that continue to play should be able to challenge and be challenged, and be able to lose and gain spots on the ladder. However, this won't work unless quite a few teams agree to keep playing; otherwise the last place team could jump past teams who decided to wait until the new Ren comes out. Hard decision.
