We're in the AA 6 v 6 Open League » American Conference » Beta Division which contains 10 teams. If the league goes for 9 weeks we should play every team once.

This we week we are play Violent Veggies for the 2nd time, seems a little unfair as they are the #1 team and we haven't played Wild Cats (roughly equal with us on the ladder) or United Forces Elite (who are the lowest ranked team) at all yet.

I'm all for a tough match, but what chance do we have if we have to replay the top teams and never get a shot at the rest?

Don't you think its unfair you played VV on the only map you guys are good at the first time around?

Think of it as payback...

Actually MPSE is the map we have 4th most hours on and is hardly "the only map we're good at".

Doesn't really matter, as I can see from the replies and the general attitude of a lot of players and teams on TWL no one really wants a good, fair or just match ever - so long as they win.
Please stop crying just because you have a losing record.

wrong! I play TWL for fun, on all maps, against any opfor, win or lose, so do my team, and quite a few others I know on our ladders.

Dont let your self get annoyed if you come up against fickle (team hoping), glory hunting children or worse the over indulgent persons without employ / life outside games.

I think if you sounded less like you were crying and more like you were notifying the admins of the problem you might get a better response.

I advise you to email the DC or admin for your league with the proof of the league error that they made. They should fix it! If they dont you can elevate the claim to the lead-admin, then after that to the competition director, and after that to the senior staff of TWL. There is due process for all complaints and you should follow it.

I think the above is true. If you just explained the problem as playing the same team twice while not having played others even once, and asked if this was correct, you wouldn't have gotten these responses.

I'd wait for a response from the DC's, or you could try to mail/contact them via irc.

id rather play a good team and lose than play a bad team and not improve or learn anything at all.

BTW, I love these forums - complain about a team breaking the rules and you're a cry baby. Complain about a problem with the rules and you're a whinger. Break the rules and you're in breach of the rules and you get punished. Appeal to an admin about anything and you'll be amazed if you get a response. Insult an admin and you'll get punished without fail.

Turn up to play a straight game and you're lucky if the you get an opposing team with the same agenda, that's about all you can hope for - everything else here is a waste of time.
your whining!

//just some corrections here.

a) email an admin with a problem/complaint and you should always get a responce. Teams did from me and I know they do from many other admins. If you dont get a response escalate your claim, to his boss or even higher.

b)
Break the rules and you're in breach of the rules and you get punished.
<-- isn't that how it should be.

c) Problems in the rules tend to arrise when players try to apply the letter of the law as opposed to the spirit.

d) If a team breaks the rules against my team, we tell them they have done so and ask them not to continue. If they persist we get an admin in to view.

Remember that in the end the whole point of online gaming is to play. Don't try and win matches on rule breaches, win them through skill.

Also you have a very very valid point about what is a glaring mistake by the league admin / DC. So it should be fixed. Just tell someone higher up if they are not responding to your emails.

as far as I know, no email was sent regarding this matter. scheduling for the open is always a pain due to teams dropping left and right. the problem goes back further than your match this past week. there have been other teams that have played each other twice. in a perfect world, if we knew the open league would stay together we could comit to using a preset schedule. however, this season we decided to do it week to week to try and avoid as many bye weeks as we saw last season. personally i think it worked out well and i commend justin and grifter for keeping it as smooth as it has been.
well the plot thickens, this week we have to replay the #2 team on our ladder. Whilst the #10 may be called inactive they are still on the ladder. However the #4 team is certainly NOT inactive and we still haven't played either #4 or #10 even once.

I've sent an email regarding this to the NA Open League Admin - justintime. I'll let you know what hear back.

Well well well, I emailed the NA Open League Admin - justintime OVER FIVE DAYS AGO asking why we replayed a team last week... and here's a shocker - NO RESPONSE.

Thanks for the advice guys, in admins we trust...
you know, all i hear these days are MoS guys whining/bitching. Nimrod, about who they are playing in the open league, riley about personal attacks on 10thsfg, and coldfusion for getting suspended for breaking the rules. Get your act together and stop complaining before these forums become bogged down by your whole team complaining about something else.

they cant stand the fact that they suck
Im still uncertain what answer you are looking for... This 'problem' was around before your match. Again, Ill say it, in a perfect world, no teams would drop and a preset schedule could be made that would actually mean something. With teams dropping constantly, its a bit complicated to keep all the divisions squared away with no issues. If youd like, Ill make 2 team divisions in the open and youll have to play the same team 7 weeks in a row. At least that way youll be certain that no one is singling out your team.
