Shared rcon

Well you guys have done it now. The rule to not make it required to share rcon has to be the stupidest idea since the pet rock. You can't possibly have a justification for this change. What is the big deal of quickly setting up a match rcon then switching it after the match. If I can't see how the opponents server is set up I CAN"T TRUST THAT OPPONENT IS NOT CHEATING. If I don't trust then the integrity of the match and the league is compromised.

You can not force someone to give rcon its illegal to do that. Second there have been some instances of the visiting team changing settings even a case where a visiting team changed the rcon password.

Request an OC and they can check.

why would u need rcon other than to check dumpusers..if u still think dumpusers will catch cheaters then plz sell ur mohaa disc now.

bah, checking the server with the path command to make sure no mods are on the server is always a good idea...especially on spearhead sv_pure

We gave the other team Rcon one time and they F'd us over, they changed Rcon, then kicked our guys (during the match) and changed our server settings and tried to tell us we had to forfeit because we didnt have the server setup right.

We only give Rcon now to teams we know and trust

The big deal is what happens during that match. Not all temas log everythign goign through rcon. Teams winning quickly change timelimit to help them along or things of that nature. Settigns get mysteriously changed and disputes filed on it. Etc, etc, etc... We can mandate that TWL officials/Observers get access to rcon to verify and that should be utilized. If you haven't experienced any of these things than I can see wher eyou don't fully understand. Many teams have experienced it though.

If you don't trust teams request an OC to spectate or an admin to verify server settings prior to the match. Your best bet is to request an OC and not last second.

Why you always do complicated thing from simple one
1- Rcon is usefull to check server mod
2- To check server config, gravity, speed etc
3- After you have finish to look at all setting, the owner just have to set a new rcon for the match.

Simple huh?
That should be a rule, because we know many team have server mod in their server, and they dont remove it for match. These mod could modifiy weapon, and In TWL we always play the same side for all map (usally) so mod can reduce power of weapon for Allies and increase for Axis...

So think about it...
Cheating is not having something in our computer, its playing an unfair way!!!

Think about this. Most teams agree to and play on Pandora. Now, while pandora is running, if the rcon pw is changed then pandora shuts down, and that forces everyone to exit the game, the Pandora server hoster to re-host pandora, and everyone to re-load pandora. Hell of a lot of time isnt it, knowing that not everyone has fast pc's, and for some scanning through pandora and loading mohaa takes over 10 minutes.

Now you might say, well before pandora is up, change rcon, check server settings, then change back. Then your just a moron. They let u check, change rcn back, and then change the settings without u knwoing it and before loading Pandora.

And like almost everyone else has stated, many times have the visiting team recieved rcon, and fucked with the server to get a win. IMO, i wouldnt trust neone outside my clan to have rcon to our clan server. I dont even rly trust OC's unless i know the OC. I will trust admins though, there basically the only other ppl u can trust.

pandora will shut off if rcon is changed. Most top 10 matches use pandora. If you use pandora then you dont have to really worry about dumpuser and non stock settings.

So it mean server side cheater now only have to ask for Pandora and they are safe, and were are **** (bad word here), that really sux guys! You should try to get a way to fix that or may be you dont want for some reason.. humm interesting... j/k

I found one, now I want a SS through the console of all file in the main folder from the server, taken by the captain of the other team!

Request an OC or admin to check/spectate. Things aren't that simple. Ask then teams that had someone change settigns durign a match. It has happened. The OC's are there to compensate for the lack of rcon for both teams.

Think thats not possible, you will be short in Admin... think actually you are already short in admin LoL

And because, I dont know these admin, they can be newb in server mod, so they wont see anything, there is no accusation here, just mean sometimes people dont have knowledge.

I can live with cvar, but I want a SS of server files. And Im gonna request it, because we have play match where server mod was on, I dont say they use it, but its not suppose to be there! And I prefer to ask before than being screwed after!

So for all team who want to do same here is the command:
RCON DIR MAIN
this will list all files in main folder, so the other team only have to maximize their console windows, type in it:
RCON SAY "SERVER SS FOR MATCH -TEAM1- VS -TEAM2-"
- to validate your SS and be sure its not an old one
RCON DIR MAIN
RCON G_INSTASHOT 1

And there we go!

if u think insta shotting will catch cheats..

We have over 40 OC's. Thats why I said request an OC or admin. That being said I do believe that you are only going to believe that which you post. Makes for a very one sided conversation. TWL stands by it's rcon rule and how to verify servers if you feel the need for it being done.
