Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is set to take gamers as close to war as they’ll ever want to get. In a shooter that recreates the brutal reality of the modern combat experience in stunning detail, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will challenge players to survive the chaos and rapidly evolving situations of modern warfare in a new contemporary theatre.

  • Players will experience the intensity, diversity and claustrophobia of a present day conflict from the unique perspectives of an infantry marine and a Special Forces officer, each engaged against the full force of the Chinese PLA on the huge open-world island of Skira. Gameplay simulates an immense conflict between advanced forces and provides unparalleled scope with different military disciplines, vehicles and equipment for players to utilise.

  • The most realistic modern military shooter: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will deliver the most accessible, engaging and visceral sandbox shooter of the year, with a huge variety of equipment, weapons and tactics available. Authentic cutting-edge weaponry is simulated with detailed ballistic physics and players will command and control a wide variety of multi-component, multi-weapon vehicles, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, APCs, attack and utility helicopters. The character damage system authentically depicts the terrible wounds and injury from modern weapons to communicate the lethality of combat.

  • Freedom of Play: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will give players the freedom to handle military crisis situations on their initiative. Unscripted missions will task players with real objectives, such as laying down covering fire, covering a friendly unit’s retreat or conducting short-range recon patrol. Armed with cutting edge military hardware, players will need to balance brute force with intelligent use of tactics.

  • Squad-Based Combat: As an epic single and multi-player campaign weaves the narrative, players will fight as infantry soldiers in battle, drive tanks in armoured assaults, and infiltrate the enemy in covert special operations utilizing a wide variety of realistic military weapons from knives and rifles to machine guns and grenade launchers.

  • Redefines the Size of Battle: the 220km2 island of Skira gives players a multitude of tactical decisions on how to best accomplish missions. Densely packed with environment detail and objects, valleys, mountains, coastlines, towns, villages and industrial complexes all combine to deliver a rich and challenging tactical environment.

very much so - my team is down.
I'll be starting a one man team.
[SOW] may reunite to play this one. Have they confirmed the online battle options? CTF etc
=VX9= will most likely be playing this game, but I still haven't heard much about how good multiplayer is so time will tell.
if its good, I will be looking for a team
We at the 506th are very interested.

waiting on dedicated server files, then this game has a bit more potential for us here.
Looks interesting to me, I think I will wait until the first patch though, to make sure they are going to fix the issues. I read in their forums that it doesn't have dedicated server files yet and didn't come with a cd key! There is no anti-cheat, and no way to identify players. Also it said there is no lean or jump function. LAME! Hopefully they will live up to their promises and get this stuff fixed, at which point I will be glad to give them my money.

needs a lotta work !

We (4 of us) tried today to join up on servers that we were hosting with little success. We are from all across the US and could not find the pub server. So we tried to join a server that was all ready up and we could not even see the same servers. Lots of work is going to be needed before we can try to match with this.
yea, the mp needs a lot of work. I heard they are working on a dedicated server file. Another thing, how is this game going to be secure without cd keys!
I've got like six guys who would love to play
I would Also Love To Play Just Need A Team Cheers.
I am very interested in any competitive games. I am worried that cod MW2 wont be able to b used in a competition mod.

Someone posted this one the MW2 board:

• IW has control of the game

• IWnet servers will host multiplayer

• DLC will be a charged item for PC

• No dedicated servers

• Matchmaking system used to play with similarly ranked players

• VAC instead of PB

• Semi-capable password servers

• Semi-capable ad-hoc servers

• Competitive play is dead

• MW2 mods would not be possible

• Full integration into Steam
The game needs a whole lot of fixing....
