COD2 Rifles Only Composite League MOTW
The COD2 Rifles Only Composite League has been producing great matches and this week is no different. Poonage vs HellHawks . Two competitive teams facing each other on this weeks map: Burgundy. Who will win? Who will take the rifling that one step further to win this weeks match up?
The HellHawks have recently merged with HSR and here is the description from their website:
"HsR has been around for quite a while now. A small group of members have known eachother for about 2 years now. Formally in Cpx: Stingray, Silenteagle, KnightsTemplar, and Coolmoe founded HsR. HsR has recently merged with many of the members of Hell Hawks to make the clan even stronger. HsR is a rifles only clan for the most part although many of the members will often play zombies or all weapons. HsR participates in many of the ladders in TWL including all weapons."
HSR has an impressive rifles only record : 11/2 in 4v4 CTF Rifles Only and 11/5 in 4v4 SD Rifles Only. On Burgundy, the HellHawks have 1 win, 2 loses, 1 overtime for both Rifles only and CTF. HSR has won twice and lost once on all rifles ladders on Burgundy. HellHawks have won all 3 of their regular season league matches.
Poonage does not have a website but have an irc channel where they gather under the name Slashtrend and has this in their TWL team profile : rofl waffle troffle boffle. They are a bunch of friends Specter rallied together to play in TWL. Poonage is mostly a group of puggers that decided to make a team just for competing on TWL.
They also have an impressive record for COD2 with TWL. They are 5 and 1 in the TDM 4v4 ladder and 6 and 1 in the 4v4 SD rifles ladder. Not only that, they have won all 3 of thier regular season matches. They have played Burgundy once in rifles only and won that match.
The rants for this match are oddly quiet but there is something interesting to point out: They lost a match to HSR in 4v4 SD rifles only. That may affect the outcome if Hellhawks uses some of the same roster that played Poonage before. Poonage's record for the league is: W: 3 L: 0 D: 0 F: 0 -Round / Map Record: W: 48 L: 12. HellHawk's league record is: W: 3 L: 0 D: 0 F: 0 - Round / Map Record: W: 47 L: 22. Close records.
Both teams have fps experience behind them, Poonage playing UO before COD2 and some CS:S and HellHawks have played COD:UO before COD2. But my choice is HellHawks. With the recent merger, they will have an easy time getting a roster that will be comprised of top notch players and they have been playing longer as a team. HellHawks for the win!
