Ah, memories. I was looking for the "Wassup" commercial done Tribes-style on YouTube and came across some of the old "Best of the Best" compilations. This prompted a question:

What are the current players still using in terms of things to enhance their ability to play? I'm not talking about voicepacks either.

Please include links if you can. I'm just getting back into T1 after many years away and want to upgrade my current configuration to something a bit more in line with what everyone else is using.

I'm able to play currently, so I have LastHope. In terms of scripts, I have a standard ski script (Lorne Laliberte's), z0dd's chaingun script, reverse snipe, Repair Kits, NewOpts and the Presto Pack. These are leftover from when I played on a regular basis many years ago.

When the footage actually starts (around 0:30) see how they have the friendly / enemy indicators that are more like lens flares?

Also, is cg sparks any good? I remember trying it once but didn't think much of it. However, my cg skills have gone from mediocre (years ago) to "totally suck" so anything to help would be appreciated.

Finally, I'm normally quite good at choosing where to land for skiing purposes but at times I get so badly outrun by a flag carrier that I can't help but think that my standard ski script isn't good enough. Are there finely tuned ski scripts that are optimized for speed?

Tell me about it. I went through my demos directory and found some old school matches, e.g. SES vs. POE, etc. that VOODOO (who was a member of the only clan I founded, QED) gave to me to learn hardcore CTF techniques.

why the fuck cant a developer see something like the dozens of movies put out there like this and be not only inspired to play, but to see a positive business model and create something so dynamic the gaming world is obviously void of?

ahh so miss this game.still compare it to everything as they seem so much more bland than this game to this day.

Torque has so many games that are written for it already.

Spend the $100 and get the source to the engine as part of the license. Royalty-free distribution of the engine with your game.
