Platform Update: June 2026 - 60Hz and Rising

The battlefield just got faster. 60Hz servers are now live for 2v2 Tanks, the heli tournaments have crowned their first champions, and we've shipped Round Robin formats, an AI rules assistant, and enough platform updates to fill a changelog twice over. Here is everything that's changed since March.

🏎️ 60Hz Servers Now Live for TWL 2v2 Tanks!

Thanks to your incredible support and activity during our 2v2 Tanks rollout, BF Studios has officially granted us 60Hz servers for our competitive Portal Experience (Code: ZPFX9)!

Why 60Hz Matters: A 60Hz tick rate means the server processes updates twice as fast as standard servers. For high-stakes tank combat, this translates directly to:

  • Crisper Hit Registration: Far fewer "dusted" shells or ghost hits when trading fire at range.
  • Smoother Physics: Tighter vehicle handling and more accurate tracking during fast maneuvers.
  • Lower Latency: A much more responsive, competitive feel across every engagement.

All matches on our BF6 2v2 Tanks Ladder can immediately benefit from this performance boost!

Friday Night PUGs: To celebrate and put the new tick rate through its paces, we are hosting Pick-Up Games (PUGs) every Friday evening (after dinner time EST). Keep your eyes on ⁠pick-up-games and meet up in the Discord Lobby to get sorted into teams, experience the 60Hz difference, and run some rounds.

  • 🏆 Heli Tournament Champions Crowned: The 2v2 Attack Heli Tournament that opened in March have wrapped up their brackets as memorialized by Dev's broadcast up next is the grand final for 1v1 Little Bird Tournament which will givie us our first tournament champions on rebooted TWL - check out their rant board while it's live! Congratulations to the winners - and to every team that fought through the bracket. Your matches set the standard for competitive BF6 on this platform!
  • 🛡️ Tank's held by AnV In the BF6 2v2 Tanks Ladder we've got AnV holding the #1 rung against all challengers. With 60Hz now live, every defense just got that much more intense.
  • 🚁 Heli Ladder Shake-ups: The BF6 2v2 Helicopter Ladder has seen fierce competition since our last update. New teams are climbing and established squads are defending their positions - the sky is anything but quiet.
  • 🧱 Conquest Is Coming: Our BF6 Conquest page is now live with ban details and the portal experience breakdown for 8v8 through 12v12 competitive play. We're gearing up for the next frontier in competitive BF6.

🚀 Platform Updates & Improvements

  • 🏟️ Tournament Evolution: Round Robin brackets are being tested - every team plays every other team with live standings and admin progression tools. Bracket tournaments also got drag-and-drop seeding, two-phase generation (no more premature Discord pings), latecomer-to-BYE conversion, slot swapping, deadline reminders, and admin score corrections in match history.
  • 🤖 AI Rules Assistant: A floating "Ask AI" button on competition rules pages and a /ask command in Discord let you ask natural-language questions about any competition's rules - powered by Claude with prompt caching for instant, accurate answers.
  • 📱 Progressive Web App: TWL is now installable. Add it to your home screen for a near-native app experience with faster load times and an always-accessible home base for your matches.
  • 📸 Smart Scoring: PUG players can now upload end-of-round screenshots directly through the bot, and our AI-powered BF6 scoreboard parser extracts K/D/A per player automatically - no manual entry required.
  • 🏠 Multi-Guild Discord: Competitions can now run match comms and rant boards in partner Discord guilds. A new /twl-setup wizard handles onboarding, permission checks, and drift diagnostics. Ladder challenges also get their own Discord match-comms channels now.
  • 📜 Archive Expansion: We've added historical standings from Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike Open, RTCW, Tribes, Tribes 2, America's Army, and Desert Combat Conquest - thousands of rows of gaming history, preserved in our archives
  • 🛠️ Platform Stability: Match times are now fully localized, animated tournament page headers, admin timeout/restriction for ineligible players, welcome DMs for new Discord members, persistent PUG channel mode, cross-guild PUG sign-up fixes, profile OpenGraph improvements, and dozens of bug fixes across mobile and desktop.
