Let me give a little background here, just so maybe you all understand what a hassle this has been.
I have not considered doing a new LT mappack since the last one was released. It's a dying game, but at least I know some people are still enjoying it, so I've kept it alive, and made files available etc. I had actually started working on a version for T2, but then realized that Zodd and Zod were doing something similar, and out of respect, I didn't want to work against them, and i knew that they'd put out a better finished product than mine would be.
I've been holding out for T:V, and had actually mentioned to KP already about starting development during open beta, as I figured that it would come in handy to have is guidance as I did on the first LT.
So out of the blue comes Bunny, who had done a lot of work on this new pack. He and I spent a couple hours it seems both together and independantly checking these maps out. I was very happy with the work he had done, and since he had the respect to stick my name on there as being the person who conceptualized the "mod" in the first place, which meant a lot to me. Nothing like having a project that is dear to you and having people try to take that away from you.
Well apparently, from what I understand, he mentioned it to someone else that he was working on this project, and one of the people that he mentioned it to decided, "Hey, this guys making an LT map pack, so I'm going to try to beat him to the punch". We're talking about Killer2001 of course, who also put a decent amount of work into his pack. But the truth of the matter is, is I think it was underhanded to not only work on a pack knowing someone else had mentioned first that they were doing one, but to go ahead and release it, going as far as uploading it to the rdb, and getting his friends to choose to vote for his stuff without even playing Bunny's maps. I know this is the case, because I'm the only one hosting Bunny's, and I have logs for the server.
Bunny, on the otherhand, although apparently less well known due to his 2 year hiatus from the community, approached me very respectfully, and it was obvious I was dealing with an adult. I've seen harsh words come from Killer about Bunny's maps, yet not a bad word has been uttered by Bunny about Killer's dispite hard feelings on trying to squeeze him out of the picture and beat him to the punch with these maps.
So, all this considered, I've decided to release the pack that Bunny did in it's entirety. I think the maps are all done in a manner that everyone will be happy with, and he did them the way that I would have like to see it done, instead of arguing the fate of the project with me. Hell he did them much better than I did luckily, and fixed all my bugs.
There's little appreciation for something like this, and I know I can't please everyone here, but I think this will come damn close. As far as the second pack goes, you all can decide to do with it what you will. If you decide that you want to see some maps out of it instead of some of Bunny's, then so be it. But as far as I'm concerned, you can download the latest release of the New LT Mappack HERE . I know it may be a little slow on the DL for you, but as soon as Yogi pushes through the RDB submission, I'll change the link.
Thanks for taking the time to play and to help test this. Alot of you are the reason I still even care about this game, and take the time to do stuff like this.
