Petition: lasthope for arena matches

this is a petition to incorporate lasthope into arena matches, this will encourage DD to put it on his server, since he wont, and it will make shit cool again.

The other thing is, yall should decide which maps should be used. Right now on lair, all the maps on there ive tested and seem to work ok. So, any arena maps for comp play should prol be picked from that list. Im sure some of you will dislike some, get over it They all seem pretty neat to me, but im no big arena player.

The other thing is when the lasthope arena code is on the lasthope site, in a few days, it will include a acctual ip logger thats built in. No running external programs or such.

This way, some of you who complain about smurfing should have no worries.

Also, for those servers that are on artofwarcentral, YOU can run lasthope. All you need to do is go to your account, manage functions, then go to start/stop/restart.

Stop the server, then connect via a ftp client, and delete the tribes.exe and upload the lasthope that will be released in the lasthope arena zip that should be out soon. You will also have to replace some script files in the base folder but I think everything else is the same, in the config folder that is. Then just startup the server by clicking on the start server button and you will be upgraded. You will notice a IP_log_servername_.cs file now which will have ips/dates/player names. Nice to keep track of players/smurfers.

Thats it... will post new thread when some stuff is finished like the skins pack and the voice is done. The voice pack is done, and just has some custom arena sounds. Small vol file, which I will post link for as well sometime VERY soon.

I won't say that I don't enjoy the maps that are played right now because I do. But I kind of get tired of having to play the same map rotation over and over. It would be nice to see some older maps be played more frequently, maybe even some of the hybrid ones that weren't acknowledged.

Suggested Maps: Close Quarters, Monorail Arena, No Quarter, Freaky Styley, Arecibo Arena

Any issues with testing need to be communicated quickly...currently there isn't any info listed that indicated players are having issues with it. Server side is easily handled by pm'ing posr for assistance or working with your provider.

Target date to move forward is this Sunday with a required use in competition targeted for December 19th. Rule set will be updated at that time to reflect the change.

I would really like to talk to someone that runs an arena server asap. The lair seems to be crashing every now and then, and im sure its not lasthope. Majorgeeks arena is doing the same. So I am assuming its a config problem or how its being started. Anyways, if someone that runs a dedicated arena server could PM me, I would like to get any/all bugs fixed first before comp goes live...

I went to check my ping on the LH server and no one was there.. although two of the non-LH server were pretty populated, what do ya know. Do people prefer to play non-LH? That's how it was last time I think.

if matches can only be played on that one server, you need to make sure there's enough admins to set up matches or you'll get a lot of reschedules due to no admin

Yes more ppl play in DD's which is not lasthope so im forced to go there because no one is even on a lasthope server.
