We look back on TWL history as we look forward with Battlefield 6's launch today along with TWL's new ladders
From the moment the first shell landed in Market Garden, our community knew we were part of something special. That feeling - huge open maps like Tribes, the need to organize multiple players for competition, a desire to test skills and build legacies - is what birthed TeamWarfare League.
Today, we relight that spirit! The moment is finally here: Battlefield 6 has launched! And with it, here at TWL, our own gates are swinging open after intense development. This simultaneous launch allows us to immediately welcome all players, casual and competitive, while honoring the legends who built our past. Take a gander at the Ladders we've put up (2v2 Tanks, 10v10 EU and 10v10 NA, 6v6 Infantry 30+) and join us for a peek back at the glory and look ahead to the new experiences TWL is ready to deliver with the Battlefield franchise.
The earliest competitive scenes, starting with BF1942, were often defined by endurance. Who remembers grueling, two-and-a-half-hour matches that spanned multiple rounds on classics like Battle of the Bulge and Liberation of Caen? Teams like Wild Diamonds, Team HOT, Syn-ergy and dozens more were involved in carving out the path on Conquest ladders and bringing the format into a tight, competitive environment that proved highly entertaining for all of us.
The community's proactive spirit, embracing mods like the Desert Combat (DC), showed our commitment to the best possible gameplay experience. We chased the skill ceiling, and TWL built the ladder to reach it.

Battlefield 2 won the heart of the subsequent BF competitive scene with no doubt. Competition lived in the tight, tactical environment of 8v8 and 12v12, a format chosen by community leaders, including the original TWL admins, to ensure skill defined our way forward.
This era was dominated by legendary domestic feuds. Could any rivalry match the sheer competitive dramas displayed by Warchild (WC) and cRu? Their battles forged the core folklore of the scene as players aspired to reach their levels and rosters furiously swapped to bring a healthy competitive scene. The scene grew to global levels, organizations like Dignitas, Epsilon eSports, Reason Gaming, and Crack Clan set an international standard across TWL, CAL, and other leagues on multiple continents.

As the franchise moved into its more unique eras, the competitive scene remained anchored by TWL. We embraced the futuristic Titan Mode in Battlefield 2142, where teams found success by mastering large-scale objective assaults. Later, during the Battlefield 3 (BF3) and Battlefield 4 (BF4) years, the competitive community faced new challenges, often having to engineer competitive play into games designed for the public sandbox and getting far more specific about which weapons and tactics were allowed in competition. The regular collaboration from the community to improve the scene ensured a healthy environment for all and cemented TWL as a pillar of the competitive Battlefield circuit.

For years, the competitive flame was kept alive by the perseverance of players and admins who worked against the odds. TWL was the persistent backbone, the place where teams found structure even during tough times for the franchise.
Today, as Battlefield 6 launches, so does a new TeamWarfare League, engineered for a global future. We’ve taken the spirit of the original rivalries and baked it into a platform that's blazing fast and accessible and better suited for a very, very different Battlefield. As the community has matured so has our vision for how we play and are excited to accomodate and look forward to
The history is written, but the future is wide open. TWL is back, and we look forward to joining you on your Battlefield 6 journey.
